I am going to do the MMO round for the MMO social network. Today’s round up is all about social media. We will start to do this on a weekly basis from now on, I am sure we will have a lot of fun while giving exposure to the network members. Every Tuesday there will be a round up of the latest articles submitted to the MMO network by active members.

So join the MMO social network if you want to have your links posted on our blog. Our weekly round up will always cover one or two topics and as I’ve said, today is about social media.

Twitter vs Google Buzz

If you take a look at all the posts that I included they are pretty much all either about Twitter or Google Buzz. It’s possible that it’s just my personal bias that I picked all of the articles about Twitter and Buzz,  but I’d like to believe that it’s not.

It seems strange that everyone is talking about Twitter and Google Buzz. I want to get to know your view on social media and to hear what you think about Twitter compared to Google Buzz.

Let’s Debate

Do you actually use Twitter or Google Buzz? I have to be honest I don’t use Google Buzz even though I have a Google mail account. I rather rely on Twitter. I think Google is involved in too many businesses and I don’t want them to take over all markets. What do you think?

    I am like you Julius. I use Twitter, but not Google Buzz. I do have a little problem of them monopolizing EVERYTHING. Kinda creepy actually. But, nobody is forcing me to use it, so... Mark

    I do not find Google Buzz useful... about as pointless as Google Wave. It is one of those projects that is similar to what Yahoo has done. I can see it abandoned when it is not producing results and alienating those who are using it.     I my point of view Google Buzz is better because in 1) Google Buzz you friends are alredy added but in Twitter you spend lot of time to increase your friend list. 2) Second and the most important thing is you can check your mail with Buzz in a single window. This is my thinking, might be like you too.

      Alright well that's a good point. But I think that's what most social media sites always offer. You just type in your email address with your password and they will search through the email account trying to locate email addresses that have also signed up for their service. Your second point is probably a huge advantage. I mean I have myself a gmail account but I am using Outlook to check my mails so I doesn't really effect me but still interesting point.     I'm a huge fan of using Twitter, but maybe that's just because I'm an ego driven douche bag. I love looking at sites like favstar.fm and my retweet list to see what tweets my followers find funny. Twitter is by far my favorite social media site. Google Buzz, on the other hand, just seems clunky to me. It seems like I would easily share something by accident or something, so I just turn it off.     This is a good idea i recently write a post about round up from the web this is a good idea it helps to showcase some great post.     Thanks for using my post. I am not a big fan of Google Buzz, I even removed my Buzz buttons on my site. I do post a link to my latest post to buzz and I check once or twice a day to see if anyone has sent me anything. I also feed my Twitter feed into Buzz because I do have several followers that do not use Twitter and I do get a small amount of traffic from Buzz. I see the potential of Google Buzz and its not where it could be.       Alright so you have at least tried using Google Buzz or are still using it from time to time. Usually there are just the people that have never tried it and hate it (that's me :P) and then the ones who are actually using it actively. You seem to be in between. I am not sure if there are even advantages to using Google buzz. So far it doesn't seem like it.     I use twitter and I'm fairly active there. Although I haven't tried Buzz, I probably wouldn't anytime soon.

        Hi, Google buzz is shit! (sorry to use the term), I never even used it once. Google should not try to have everything after all, I use twitter most of the time and it is the number one traffic source of my blog.           You may be right. I don't like it either. Even though I do get quite a bit of traffic from Twitter, it's not too much. How many followers do you have? Twitter is not close to being the number of source of traffic on my blog.             Hi, Sorry for replying you lately, I have 200+ followers and I have gotten close to 100 visits from twitter this month.     I personally like Twitter and use twitter most of the time. I didn't found the charm and realistic environment in Google buzz. Its just buzzzzzzzzzzzz.

        I use Twitter more even though I have a Google Buzz account with some followers there and also following some people there. In all, I think Twitter is ruling but time will tell who will rule in the future cos Google Buzz is new and Twitter is older. So currently I think Twitter wins.     I am on Twitter more, I didn't like Buzz after trying it for some time, probably because Google started in a wrong way, and it was a mess in the beginning and hard to deal with before collapsing replies! I would like to add this video which tells about what exactly Google do as a big company, and how I feel about Buzz, thanks to Gerald Weber.. I got the video from a tweet of his yesterday... and it has some facts and also it's so funny!

I haven't even tried using Google Buzz.         I love using both. I think it's important to find new people to interact with on Buzz. Otherwise, you won't get anything out of it. The atmosphere is very different from Twitter. Since it's a smaller community it's easier to interact with some users that are out of reach on Twitter. Buzz has to make some changes but I really don't think they are trying to compete with Twitter. I think they are trying to expand on the idea and so far it's done a good job. They have a new list of suggested users called GoneBuzz and you can find me and vote for me there too. Go to http://www.gonebuzz.com/ and scroll down the list to find Ileane Smith.           I thought the whole idea of Google Buzz was to build a social media network based on a huge fan base (all the Gmail users). I am surprised that there are not too many people using it. I agree I don't think they are trying to compete with Twitter. I just don't like the idea of Google taking over every business. You know what I mean? Pretty cool.             #1. Reading content without distracting ads or sidebars #2. Finding new and interesting people to engage with #3. Having a conversation without a 140 character limit #4. Having conversations with some "A-list bloggers" and other hi-tech social media moguls that don't even notice you on Twitter, Facebook or in the comment sections of their blogs. #5.
