The State of the Internet #infographic

The State of the Internet

Every quarter, Akamai Technologies takes a look at global internet connection speeds, attack traffic, network connectivity and more. This data has been taken from the latest State of the Internet report and visualized it in infographic form by onlineuniversities.com.

While there are still some areas that have lower Internet penetration rates and slower data speeds, which may prevent them from fully accessing multimedia content, individuals from developed and developing countries alike are flocking to online education. In the near future, we can expect to see access to affordable and flexible education programs continue to flourish as the growth of technology access increases in countries across the world.

Those were some interesting facts...sadly the connection that we get here in India isn't fast enough...:/
  3. Ari Wahyudi says:
I'd love to live in South Korea..

I love the background of this infographic :)
  5. JamesW says:
Great infographic, it's amazing to see how the web is evolving.
  6. Jim Antoine says:
As always great info. I would really like to live in South Korea.. Oh the speeds... :-) Seriously now I din't know that the average speed for so many countries was 6 Mbps... I thought that it was higher. Fibber to the home!! We want it!
  7. Kostas says:
Wow I couldn't expect that south Korea has the fastest average connections speed, and in general east Asia, well I could expect that from Japan but I had no idea that the whole region has so good internet infrastructure, thanks for sharing Hesham...
  8. Jack Sander says:
It is very interesting that ex-communist countries like Romania and Czech Republic have a very good infrastructure. I seems that things have changed lately and they are ready to step in the third millennium.
  9. Joe Boyle says:
I think the segment regarding the speeds were quiet interesting - the USA ranks for some of the slowest speeds, yet the highest IPv4 addresses. A lot of people, for the reason of the massive amount of users, try to optimize their websites for the US. In reality, though, if your website is quick inside of the USA, it's already going to be great everywhere else - pretty neat. Enjoyed the infographic!
  10. Dan T. says:
No wonder South Korea is one of the fastest improving country in Asia.
  11. Rashmi Sinha says:
It is impressive how the internet speeds are distributed. I guess that the number of users has an important role, as only 7 countries in Europe are in top 10 and only 24 in US. Still it is awesome to see such charts every now and then. It gives you the general idea of how internet impacts on our world.
  12. Ray says:
I know these numbers are accurate but it's hard to believe the US numbers are so low.
