Create Sharp Blog Content – Free eBook

July 10, 2012 - Last Modified: July 10, 2012 by Hesham Zebida

Sharp Blog Content

You know, sometimes you land on an interesting post or article, then you got inspired to write, this is exactly what happen to me when I read Sara Lancaster‘s guest post at SavvySexySocial.com, so I quickly fired up my post editor and decided to write right away, before anything interrupt my inspiration. So, I hope you will find this post useful in any way.

Sara wrote about how she -think- failed in marketing her free ebook 103 Ways to Create Sharp Blog Content, and what she actually did to make things right and achieve her goals. That guest post is really interesting, informative, and best of all.. It’s honest!

The goals behind that ebook was pretty simply though

  1. build links
  2. attract new clients
  3. and reach 5,000 downloads

Well, it looks simple, but the last goal which is (reach 5,000 downloads) seems to be the hardest one to achieve. However I think that’s not a big issue Sara, it’s just a matter of time 🙂

I don’t think anyone of your friends hated the eBook, I think it’s awesome!

I am so sure that anyone who read this → 103 Ways to Create Sharp Blog Content will just love it!

So, I vote for busyness too!

Plus, it’s a FREE ebook! (that’s part of the problem). In other words, I would love to promote your ebook if it was a paid one, and especially if I will get a commission! Don’t get e wrong, but in this bad economy, only a few things can force me to free up some time!

One thing we don’t realize!

When I first started blogging and internet marketing, I was having a better respond from my fellow bloggers than today!

The difference here is I didn’t wrote any ebook, at least not yet, so I didn’t have to promote my ebook online.

I remember when I launched my first real design project, I was crashing it. I’ve got many reviews, actually more than I expected.

But, when I launched my second development project, it was different, I didn’t get the respond I expected assuming that my network is growing and I am practically able to reach out more people!

So, what happened?!

Do people hate my plugin ? They have other stuff eating up their time? Or maybe I’ve lost my influence 🙂

You see, I still have great connection and relationship with almost all the people I used to connect with since more than three years, and I’ve doubled my network more than once during that time. Today, most of them are doing better with their business, a lot of them are better than me, they are more stronger, and able to help me out with my promotion than ever.

But I realized that they must have a lot more on their plates than ever!

Some of them don’t open the emails I sent to my list, not sure why are subscribed! So, what makes them respond to me, especially that my plugin has a free to download copy?!

Well, I just discovered the I do exactly the same thing! I simply can’t keep up with all of them, I can’t promote all their amazing stuff even if it will make me rich, I wish I can! I mean come on, check my blogging goals for 2012 and see what I mean!

So, again…

I vote for busyness.

It’s all about Time; our biggest challenge!

P.S. Sara really did a nice free ebook, read it → 103 Ways to Create Sharp Blog Content, it’s easy as 29 page full of amazing tips, I personally wish if that ebook was mine 🙂 let me know what you think!

Now, tell me…

Have you had hard time promoting your new ebook online?

What you did to overcome it?

Valuable information, Hesham. I gotta say though, I wrote an eBook about 18 months ago and had zero success. And by zero, I m ean not one sale. I was mainly due to inexperience in promotion, a small network and my blog had only just started. So the lesson there was plan both plan out in growth steps as well as research what the heck you're actually doing.

Thanks a lot for sharing this. Reading is always useful especially when it comes to this never ending issue : good blogging content!
  4. Sara Lancaster says:
Wow, Hesham! What a great way to start my day. Thank you for taking notice of my Savvy Sexy Social post and my ebook. I think you are so right about offering up tweets, etc. to promote your network's content. I try to do that, but I could definitely do it more. I think that's a big part of the ebook promotion equation. Thanks again!
  5. DiTesco says:
Hi Buddy. Looks like I will have to download that ebook, something I have not been doing for quite a while, since most that I have seen are quite disappointing. Anyway, I hear you on the difficulties in promoting. My guess is that it is not really about your influence, in your example, but sometimes it can be a lot of different things. Timing is definitely one thing that works.. For example, when the Penguin hit, on WarriorPlus, marketers started to develop "so called" plugins, systems, and anything else you can think of. They had it there on pre-sell (dime sale) to get the word out and they sold a lot. Why? I think because it is the "panic" that Penguin created lead many to look for a "cure".. Oh well..
    • Hesham Zebida says:
Hey Buddy, Well, at least you got to take a look :) I totally agree with you DiTesco, there are many factors, and probably some of them we won't even realize! I hear you, I still can't believe they sold one of my free wordpress plugins as WSO.. haha.
      • DiTesco says:
OMG, I can't believe it. I am guessing it is some guy who probably wrote a "report" about how to "something" (includes a tutorial) and mentioned that all the tools to get it done is free (your plugin, etc.)... Sell it for a few bucks and bam.. Gotta hand it these guys, some of them are very clever :)

Hi Hesham, When promoting my inspirational ebook I reached out to my network, asking them for help. I did a few sales before I decided to focus on cash gifting exclusively. Super helpful share here buddy. Develop a strong network by sharing other's content. You have shared every single one of my posts Hesham, and for this, I am grateful. So I share every post of yours that I read, and we expand each other's presence. This is how it's done; whether you promote a blog, ebook, whatever. Give freely, help people prosper, other people help you prosper. The key is to give up whatever you want. Want sales? Help people get sales by promoting the stuffing out of them. Foolproof system, sowing and reaping. Thanks Hesham! Ryan
    • Hesham Zebida says:
Hey Ryan, I am trying to focus more on promoting good stuff, I like your content and your passion about what you do, really cool man. Thanks for stopping by, I appreciate it. P.S. Thanks for G+ing this post ;)
  7. Terry Conti says:
Hi Hesham, How are you? I hope all is well. Definitely will checking out the free eBook. Very, very interesting and valuable. I'm going to put some time aside and have a good read. Ah time I wish we had more. I'm grateful that I'm not board though. So keeping busy and not having enough time is a good thing. I just wish like everyone else we could get more done. I've been at the tail end of an eBook for some time and expect to finish it soon. The only way to overcome a hard time promoting it I believe is to test it out on eBay first. If it will sell on eBay I know it will sell on Clickbank. Thanks for this post and the valuable info that is on it. Keep on keep on Hesham, Terry Conti
    • Hesham Zebida says:
Hey Terry, I am good, thanks for asking, I hope all is good on your side. I Totally agree with you , being busy is a wonderful thing, can't imagine myself having nothing to do and just traveling in the empty space :) And yes, it's hard to manage time and focus effort on what matters! P.S. I wish you good luck with your eBook, let me know when you are ready, probably we can share it on the blog. Thank you for reading my post, and I hope you will like the 103 Ways to Create Sharp Blog Content ebook.
