Selling Link Building Services by Guest Blogging Abuse

June 25, 2010 - Last Modified: June 25, 2010 by Hesham Zebida

Guest Blogging Abuse

There is a new wave in the guest blogging atmosphere these days, I really feel pity for every blogger who want to publish a guest post at FamousBloggers.net just to get paid for it, and while they should promote themselves the right way, they are just not doing it, they forgot the concepts, they actually don’t care for that. They want to sell cheap link building service and promote businesses in order to reap what ever money they can!

They ask for linking back to these businesses, they are making deals and get paid for writing posts and publish them on several blogs while selling link building services, and for whom? For another person? Company?! Or whatever?!

Earn $20 Dollars Today

They forgot the core of guest blogging for other blogs as a free powerful self promotional tool, they forgot the importance of personal branding, they are earning $10 or $20 today and they are losing themselves as bloggers who could make it and grow their own blogging business! THIS IS NOT BLOGGING! this is link building by guest blogging abuse!

They are actually selling our blogs and our hard work for a cheap price!

Who you are Convincing?

I have came across this issue so many times recently as FamousBloggers’s audiences are growing, and probably some bloggers just want to jump in and party with us, I have rejected 10s of posts and articles from those bloggers during the last a few months, and I am keeping telling them that this blog FamousBloggers.net is a place to promote bloggers NOT companies, businesses or services, and it’s driving me crazy everyday when I recive an email from someone who wants to sell link building services through our blog, I can say that this makes me feel upset with those guest bloggers, and I will tell you why! And I will also tell you why I am pissed off!

Here is the main 5 things that really piss me off!

  • 1- You don’t give value to yourself or your work!

Yes! You are not doing good! Do you think that $20 worth your hard work and TIME?

I was thinking like you when I first started blogging, I accepted low payments to help myself to pay the rent and my life expense, but I discovered that I was doing wrong by wasting my time and effort, and while I can earn more from blogging, I don’t need the $20 reviews, I made a decision, and I stopped doing the cheap work, or at least I decided to do the right way through my own blogs. I want to value myself as a human, But… when it’s about FamousBloggers.net, I must say NO, I will NEVER do this on FmaousBloggers.net, this blog is something else!

  • 2- You are Abusing me!

When I started blogging I made money after 3 months or so, I was writing reviews and promoting businesses and services, but at least I was doing it on my OWN blog! A blog that I own and I am working on it and paying to host it, so.. I was not taking advantage of anyone’s blog to make money, I was NOT using anyone to make money, I was not abusing anyone to make money!

So, this is why I feel YOU are abusing me, when you submit a post to promote businesses which is not even yours, and try to sell your link building services through my blog!

  • 3- You are insulting me!

While I got paid $150 to review a service or a product that I must try or like before writing about it as I mention in our advertising page, and while I got paid $100 for writing a sponsor post, YOU show up and you want to publish your post and promote a business or sell your link building services? And for how much? $10 or $20? What should I call that?! Answer me!

  • 4- You are insisting NOT to respect me!

Even after I replied to your email and told you about my take on that, and opened my heart to you trying to help you to be a better blogger, you didn’t get it, you still want to get the $20 at any cost, you are just targeting the $20, you don’t respect me, you still trying to make the deal! What else you want me to do?! Open my blog for FREE to anyone who is passing over?!

  • 5- You Think it’s EASY!

You think it’s easy to make money online, yeah.. why not?! Just set down and write what ever 15 minutes article, and publish it on whatever blog, and link to whatever website you want! Probably you don’t own a blog, so how come you want to earn money from blogging?! Just tell me!

The only Sign of Life I can see on Blogs

blogging luv

We all know how important and valuable comments are to any blog or site, it’s the only sign of life I can see on blogs, it tells me that this blog is a live!

in addition to the above points, one of the most annoying attitude of guest bloggers is to submit articles on blogs, and once it’s published they never show up again to reply to a single comment or answer any of the questions from those who need help, so I had to jump personally to take care of some questions here and there because the lazy bloggers didn’t show up again! They just wanted to promote themselves but unfortunately they did it the wrong way!

Who like to have a dead lonely blog? It’s absolutely the end of road!

Why this is happening?

I ask every guest blogger here at FamousBloggers.net to edit their profile Bio and add a link or two to their own blog/site, NOT a link to a company, I ask them to use Gravatar.com to upload a personal image, NOT a company logo! I spend hours everyday developing this blog, solving problems, building connection and relationships, doing heavy promotion through social media, bookmarking articles and much more than you can imagine!

We are working so hard to bring opportunities for our bloggers on a golden plate, and help them to make money from blogging with us, we have organized the biggest Cash Blogging Contest in the history of blogging as an opportunity for you to make money from blogging in a nice healthy competition that gives exposure to everybody in the circle, we are inventing new money making opportunities for our bloggers and sharing all these ideas with them so we can learn together and earn together, we will have 20 WINNERS and the minimum cash prize is going to be $100. Have you realized now how big it is your chances to make money with us?

Do you feel the POWER?.. FamousBloggers.net have a good followers, traffic, and highlight authors by giving the best visibility ever to their Bio, the author box used to be at the bottom of the article, now after I moved it to the top and added author box to author page, it’s actually effecting the quality of links in the Bio, all this gives more power to our bloggers, and this the reason why others wants to jump in this party and have fun!

Plz Help me and Try to Understand This:

FamousBlogger.net is made for promoting bloggers, those who really appreciate the work we are doing here, those who are working hard trying to find their own way, those who are serious about blogging and making money online.

We try to help them because we believe we can do something by working as a team, at least we can give a nice push to your brand new blog, or introduce you to an active community and amazing bloggers to communicate with, we try to guide them to the right way by giving an honest advice all the time!

Here is the Deal

For those who are earning from setting links (selling link building services) inside the guest posts or in their profile Bio, I will have to deal with them as advertisers, link builders or marketers, and I will consider their articles as blog reviews, I will not accept this to be done for free, so plz don’t register to the blog and submit your article without shaking your wallet, I will charge an amount of $100 to get their articles published on FamousBloggers.net, and it’s not going to be whatever article, you have to promote something that we think it’s good and worth for our readers, and start a conversation with them in the comments!

Want to say something? I am all ears!

Hesham Perhaps, set clear rules, create a page that informs the readers and bloggers what should be done for the articles to be submitted. It will make it more clear...:) or...hey, that is a great idea for a series of articles..tutorials how to earn money blogging, how to approach a blog, or how not to do this the wrong way. :) there is an opportunity in every situation, wouldn't you agree:)? best, Justyna!
    • Hesham says:
Thank you for the advice, good idea! I agree with you that "there is an opportunity in every situation", we just need to figure out how to take it!
  2. James Martell says:
I am sure you're happy to get that off your chest. I read every word. I agree with your tough stance on the subject. You know if you opened it up it wouldn't take long for famousbloggers.net to be filled with vanilla flavored say nothing content loaded with links to crappy websites.
    • Hesham says:
This is true James, and .. well.. sometimes it goes out of control!
  3. Jakes says:
Hi Hesham Tough post, but you certainly delivered the right message. Guest blogging abuse should not be allowed at any level. If someone's needs to advertise something, he/she should do it in their own blog. If they cant do that too, they certainly can go for review sites. Guest bloggers should respect the blog owner, with the realization that they are given a chance to exhibit their writing skills in a bigger platform.
    • Hesham says:
Hey Jakes, yeah.. it's a very tough one, Sometimes we have to do it this way ;) I really had to reject a few blog posts even after publishing this post, people don't read, and this is not going to be the first time I will write about this issues! Thanks a lot for stepping by, and sorry for the late reply!
      • Karla Campos Lopez says:
I have had to reject some posts lately due to this same problem but my rejections were mainly due to really poorly written content by people linking to sites which are not their own. I wrote a kind of tough blog post as well because I feel really offended when people think they can run one past me, Hesham you and I think alike in wanting to help others but there is a point where you have to show some tough love in order to defend you family of users, those who follow the rules and submit top notch content.
        • Hesham says:
Karla, thank you for stopping by! and yes this happened a lot these days! and I wonder how we can stop this behavior as it's hurting our blogs especially if you there is no guarantee those people will post same content elsewhere!
  4. Madhav Tripathi says:
Very nice topic you selected to write. This is going form long time. I think this is cheap idea to make money. I think they are not bloggers who write guest posts for selling links. It is some kind ghost writing and feel me insulted really. Guest blogging should be only for bloggers.
    • Hesham says:
You are right Madhav, we can not call them bloggers, they are more link builders or marketer to me! even a ghost writer will not pop up or show himself! mmm.. this is kind of new stuff going on!
  5. George Serradinho says:
I'm also picky when I accept guest posts on my blog. One needs to always double check and ensure all is ok. I usually go through the post and check links and sometimes link to some of my old posts if there is an opportunity. I offer a revenue sharing program to my guest authors so that they at least get something back. I have never wtitten a guest post and used paid links, that would be totally against what I stand for, BUT SOME DO IT :(
    • Hesham says:
Hey George, nice to see you here buddy! Linking internally to related posts is a very good thing to do with guest posts, I always do it when there is a chance! Another thing I do also it to search the blogger's blog and give some extra links if there is something related! I really do this by myself and spend some extra time to find those related topics! I like the idea of revenue sharing, I just can not find the time and the right way to do it as this blog has not approve to me any good AdSense earnings yet :) Thanks a lot for stepping by, appreciate your time! and I must tell you that I visit your blog since we meet the very first time, maybe I don't comments that much.. but I am always there :)
  6. Julius Kuhn-Regnier says:
I truly hate it when people contact you for things that aren't even remotely related to your blog. I had some people wanting to guest post on my blog and the article was solely about their business and why it is useful. The best way for people to grow their business is by showing how useful it can be to others. You don't need to write overly promotional articles to get traffic to your blog. By showing others how useful your business is, you will gain a lot more traffic in the end.
    • Hesham says:
Yeah! and the real problem is if you do it and accept them to write on your blog then you are sharing what "You really don't know about" with your readers! This will hurt at some level! I agree, a good and honest review is always the best, it's about goods and bads, people are not that stupid and we can not treat them this way!
  7. Colleen says:
It's sad to think someone would offer to post a guest blog, then sell the links to someone else. That's like borrowing your car, then returning it empty of gas. If you are guest, then act like one and show appreciation to the owner.
    • Hesham says:
lol! I like that! "That’s like borrowing your car, then returning it empty of gas" :) I agree that guests should act like one, and then we don't have a problem to be kind to our guests!
  8. Dennis Edell says:
I have a tips and rules page for guest bloggers. I have always made it a rule that they MUST subscribe to comments on their articles or they do not guest post foe me again. ;)
    • Hesham says:
By the way, I have this on the system, this is why any blogger here must be registered, they get notifications by email of all comments on the posts submitted by them! so if someone didn't reply to your comment of answered your question is because they are just lazy :)
  9. Latief says:
Hi Hesham, thanks for the information. I really mad about this, I'm with you from the start here on famousbloggers.net. So bloggers who did what you said here are not have a good will to share and create a new connection with other bloggers. Please remove them from the list, I don't want in the same room with them. FamousBloggers.Net is for bloggers who really want to share and learn each other and growth together! Hey Bloggers! You should remember what I said!
    • Hesham says:
I will make sure that you will not be with them at the same room ;) I haven't publish any posts from them, if I do... then you will find a lot of worthless articles here! Thanks for the message :)
  10. Nile Flores says:
I do not offer to pay people to guest post nor to allow them to pimp their affiliate links on their posts. It pisses me off. I like to promote websites that deserve it. I actually am pretty picky on that. I am looking for bloggers who genuinely want to connect and engage with others, not make money off my site. It reminds me of the people who cruise in the parking lots and stop shoppers to beg for gas money because they need to get somewhere. It is just like beggars on the street... a majority of them have great jobs on the side, good homes, and do begging as a second dirty job to reel in a couple hundred to a couple thousand in just a few hours.
    • Hesham says:
I thought before to pay bloggers who writes for FamousBloggers.net, but then I ended to forget completely about this idea and stick with organizing blogging contest! I completely agree with you that the idea of paying for guest bloggers will destroy the concept we are following here and will send our blogs to History in no time!!
      • Nile Flores says:
I have been offered to be paid to guest blog. I do not do it. Now, if the site owner genuinely makes a good chunk of money and seriously wants to give a little once in a while. (like a bday gift donation or Christmas gift)... fine. That is something unexpected and extremely kind. I do not do that for guest blogging, but I do something similar for my fanfiction websites where I have volunteer moderators who take care of a couple thousand members daily. But offering it as an incentive distorts the original purpose, which I agree with you. :)
  11. Viswanathan says:
I agree with everything said by you, however, you could have used a more lighter tone. The tone of your post was belittling - as if you were ridiculing these guest bloggers. Remember, it is not a one way street, you also gain from them. :)
    • Hesham says:
My article tone has to be some how high to get the attention, it's a technique.. really! I am not so annoyed or feeling that bad because I am learning a few lessons from this great experience! So.. some times I do a high tone posts to wake up people and also my self ;) Let me tell you something very important to make things clear here... All articles and posts you might read here has nothing to do with this post! All articles published here at FamousBloggers.net is from members of our community, friends of mine, and respectful bloggers! I didn't publish any posts from those bloggers I am talking about in my post! this means I am NOT gaining anything from them!
  12. Tola says:
I can see how much this must have upset you Hesham, especially whne you try so hard to do things the right way and then some else comes and tries to use you and your efforts as a cash cow for their own business! Thats just totally wrong. Do what you have to do, after all, it's your blog and if they don't like it, they can beat it!
    • Hesham says:
Thanks Tola, I just want to make sure that everybody in our community knows what's going on! And give an advice to who ever will come across this post, that we as bloggers should valuable our work and unite on this!
  13. Justin Germino says:
I know people sell links from guest posts on their own blog, but the idea of trying to sell links from a guest post I publish on someone elses blog just screams of "violation" to me. Some should be very easy to find and block but I imagine others might not be so easy. Just seems like poor practice to me.
    • Hesham says:
Those bloggers will face that fact of rejection from popular sites as soon as they discover it!
  14. Mike says:
I can feel the same way with you, Hesham! I can imagine how you are pissed off when someone take advantage of your blog and guest blogging to do his link services. That's not what the guest blogging means! However, I don't think of any actions against them yet. The only way right now is denied their guest post, I think so :(
    • Hesham says:
Thanks Mike for adding your opinion, I agree with and this is actually what I am doing! I will not accept their articles to be published here!
  15. Kristi Hines says:
I have been accepting guest posts without paying the authors for awhile now, and if they write an article that is good information for my readers, I allow them links back in their profile. Many have been bloggers that also promote their company, and I really don't mind that at all considering I do that myself. If they try to write me a post on dog food to promote their pet supply company, then no, it's not relevant to my audience. But if they write something about SEO for blogging and link back to their SEO service, then that's alright. The way I see it, they are providing me a service in writing a good article (and yes, it has to be good as I have upped my guidelines recently - I've let a few iffy ones slide because they were bloggers that are starting out, but now they really have to do a great article to get in), and my payment to them as an blog writer is simply allowing their bio link. Everybody has to have their own set of rules and policy, and maybe it would be easier to tell people that, when they are submitting a post proposal, they also submit their bio information up front so that you can tell them right away what you will or will not allow them to have in their info. Companies who are going this route should also try to focus in on blogs in their industry instead of just any blog in general. If you're a SEO company, find blogs that are about SEO. If you are a fashion company, find blogs about fashion and so on.
    • Hesham says:
Thank you Kristi, this is informative! I also don't mind that someone promote his company or service, but I do mind if he/she insists by putting links to the article that says "BUY ME", while I know my readers more than anyone else, those bloggers can not just jump in and sell something that easy from the first article they publish, it doesn't make any sense! I also would love to help new bloggers and those who are starting their business and serious about it, I give them more than they ask for, and I work more harder with them, I love to surprise them with the results, this explains why you see some bloggers write more than one article, this because they know what they will get! You know me, and you know that I like to build relationships, this means that bloggers who writes on this blog more often will have the power, if they treat it like their own blog, in this case I will not limit them by any way! I faced the different niche problem, and this is the most easy one to deal with, a simple "NO" can do it because our readers will not be interested in "Dogs food"! You know what? I don't mind anything! really.. I just need people to be honest with me because I am honest with them!
  16. Kimi says:
Wow Hesham, what a shocking story... Never thought about that, but it is a common problem, when we talk about money, we can be shameless indeed.
    • Hesham says:
Things happen all the time, and yes I agree.. Money is enough reason to make it happen!
  17. Asad says:
I agree with you Hesham. It is quite unethical to use other blogs for link buliding just to promote their business. As a blogger your responsibility is to review only those products which are beneficial for your readers and companies responsibility is to pay you for the promotion. BTW use of W3 Total cache and Lazyload plugin has really decreased page load time of your blog :).
    • Hesham says:
You have got a good point here! I don't have enough time to check every product or service they are promoting, and I can not allow publishing the article without checking because our readers trust us and trust what we recommend to them! So, even if I went for a paid service, like asking for a payment to get those article published, I still have to check these products, service and links! Wow! that's cool thing to know, I actually feel the speed of the site is going good! I made a fast test to check it and YES! it's more faster than before ;) Thanks for the feedback!
  18. Dana says:
Good message Hesham. I my self just accept and approve some of guest blogger account which seems put company link in their account. I approve the account so I can see what kind of article he/her will be submitted. If it is link to company web site, the article will be never approve. :D
    • Hesham says:
Good for you Dana, we have to focus on the readers more than just getting free content that will not get their interest!
  19. Nabeel says:
Whoa Hesham, Tough read, but a good one! I completely agree with your points, and I can understand your frustrations. You see, these 'links' effect the quality and atmosphere here at famousbloggers. When someone (Hesham) works so hard to deliver value and quality for the blog, then I can understand the frustration of cheap links on guest posts. It really effects the image that readers have of a blog (famousbloggers). Nabeel
    • Hesham says:
Yes Nabeel, this blog is not about that! our readers trust us, I can feel it! and this is why I am trying to keep myself a way from unnecessary or suspected stuff, and when I review something here is because I support the idea, or I want to ask for opinion, I open the doors to bloggers but not to link builders! I am not sure if you know this, but when you promote something that readers don't like, mostly you will not get respond as readers are so very sensitive about what we publish here! Thanks a lot for your time!
  20. Aj says:
Sorry i was a bit confused..Did you say people want to get paid for writing articles here? And they are selling links on their posts? If so, wow...how would you ever call yourself a blogger if you did this (much less a famous blogger :) ).
    • Hesham says:
No Aj, they submit guest post here and they get paid to add links into the post or in their Bio to the company that pays them or for their clients!
      • AJ says:
Dam that is really messed up. Good luck...
      • Agent Deepak says:
Cannot believe people are doing such things. Hopefully after reading this post those people will stop.
        • Hesham says:
I can believe anything these days :)
  21. Jo says:
Yes you have written a hard-hitting post that really makes people take notice and read and no ignore what you say.
    • Hesham says:
This is the main goal of this post, deliver the message! Thanks Joanne!
  22. Dr. Joe says:
Hesham, as a reader, I quite like the author box up top. I get to meet (photo) and know a little bit about the author first. In marketing, a headshot near the top is a smart tactic to help personalize a message. I do that with all my ads. Your page design reflects your commitment to excellence so I can appreciate your frustration with half-assed posts and follow-ups.
    • Hesham says:
Thank you Dr. Joe, I really enjoy your company and your nice comments! I really planned this blog since the beginning to server the blogging community some how, and we have a great team working together here, I really can not say that I did this a lone, but I am more than guy who maintain and manage the site! The whole idea was to working together on one blog to push it high so we can compete with the monster sites and blogs! We are trying our best, we still far a way from our gaols but there is a light over there!
  23. Gautam Hans says:
Ya, people do get money from link building. I saw people paying other bloggers to get contacts with blogs that allow guest blogging so that they can build links. A Big Rant!
    • Hesham says:
Man, there is so many thing running in the back sense where no body knows about it! everything in this life has it's own ghosts!
  24. David says:
Hesham, I understand completely how you feel. But let me play devil's advocate for a moment. Well, sort of, but not really. The idea in guest blogging is that you (the blog owner) get free content. In return, you give someone a couple links. Really, they do all the work (or most of it) so what's a couple links? Here is where the tricky part comes in. How much work do they do, and how high are your standards? Remember that these people are stupid. Sorry, no way to be politically correct, about it - their heads are pure hardwood. To them it is very simple: they are building links and charging their clients on a per-link basis. They don't know how to write well. They don't understand what good content is (honestly, they think good content means not too many grammar mistakes). As a result, they can look at all your posts and still not understand that you have high standards. It's like trying to explain to a colorblind person the difference between green and yellow. (I get these people all the time asking me to subcontract my services to them - no way!) So don't be too harsh on them. They don't know they are insulting you. They have no way to know. It's really not their fault.
    • Hesham says:
Thank you David, I really appreciate your nice comment, I am actually not feeling that bad, but when I was writing this post I was kind of excited lol! Probably you are write that they don't really know or understand, and they are like anyone else want make a living. I know that $10 could be more than enough to live for a week in some countries compared to the States or Canada for example, but some of those people who was contacting me pissed me off because I was giving them a greater deal :) I was kind of shocked while reading their emails lol! Also, maybe you are right about that do most of the work, but the way I look to it is maybe a little different, I consider myself doing half of the work, because I usually spend around 2 hours optimizing the articles, checking keywords stuff, and then find suitable image or photo, then again another one hour promoting the article and submitting it where is has to be depending on the topic and things like that! So, anyways, I don't mind if someone earn money, but at least they have to be honest with me about that or share some of the profits, so what annoy someone like me is going from the back door! By the way, because English is not my native language, and I haven't really had the chance to study more after high school, I am a full of grammar mistakes and types, and I get a lot of help from feedback and fellow bloggers!
      • David says:
Exactly! You take a lot more time and attention to the guest posts , and these guys really can't understand that. Even if you explained it to them, I don't think they could conceptualize why you would do something like that. It's a lot like three-way link exchanges. I have stopped trying to explain why I am not interested in giving gold and getting plastic beads. Now I just tell them to read http://www.seo-writer.com/blog/2009/06/24/want-a-link-on-a-throw-away-domain/ . That usually makes them go away.
        • Hesham says:
lol! thanks for the link, nice read, I have enjoyed even the comments on that post!
  25. evelester says:
Great post, I couldn't agree more, by selling this for so cheap they are essentially knocking down the value of the 'review' industry by cluttering it up with less than spectacular products and reviews. Good for you for taking a stand, it is your blog and you should be the one to decide what paid links go where, not the other way around.
    • Hesham says:
I agree! the "review" industry went down because of that! businesses want to pay less and this is why they are getting worthless low quality reviews at the end! We should deal with reviews differently as a part of our blog content, and give it real promotion and try to rank it higher by search engines to be found easily! This is what we do here and this is why I don't accept the cheap reviews, as you said Eve, we are who should decided because it's our work and we know how hard it is, I actually don't care for the market price, I believe there is no market price, reviews price should be decided by looking into the work and time spent on them!! Thanks a lot, I see that you are doing a mazing job on your post, everybody hates that "Guy" LOL! it's so funny to see the tweets and everyone want to know who is that "Guy" you are talking about!
      • evelester says:
Thanks! I am a little overwhelmed trying to keep up and figure out how to thank everyone for support, It means a lot to me to see this many comments and tweets! I never expected this! :-)
        • Hesham says:
Don't worry about that, I think the best way to thank your supporters is to win ;)
          • evelester says:
Very true, but I am a giving person, and by the end of this I will have followed everyone that helped and visited all the blogs - although if it keeps up like tonight I may need an extension LOL I would love to win, but seeing as how some of the entrants have a huge social media following already I doubt I will end up at the top. I have never 'really' gotten into social media marketing, so my numbers are not nearly as high as some, but I am taking this contest as my chance to get INTO social media, learn it-love it- use it- etc. Doing lots of reading and making changes on my own sites as I learn the value of these sites, I am not a social media 'newb' by any means- I have just never had a reason or the confidence to get out and market myself, this contest is changing that and I REALLY appreciate it- 'winning' does not come close to the emotional changes I am making now because of/for this. ((Although winning would be welcomed!! LOL Think I feel good now? :-) )) It is just about more than a 'contest' for me at this point, it is more of a test to see how far I can reach and grow.... Sorry for the long comment, I have been up for over 48 hours and I tend to get chatty when I am tired :-) I am off to bed!!
        • Hesham says:
Well.. probably you have to hire "That Guy" to reply to the so many comments you have there ;) Yes, they have huge follower, but you have TIME! It doesn't really make a big difference if you end on the Top or not, but we the good thing to know is that we all winners! And I agree with you, it's a complete exciting experience for any one participate for the first time, you will NOT be the same Eve we know anymore after this contest ends :) The 24 & 38 hours a wake is the story of my life... Good night dear, and sweet dreams!

I can't argue with anything you just put out. I absolutely hate when a guest poster does not comment to his readers. He is bringing something of his expertise to the blog so how would I be able to answer questions I don't know the answers to. The rest of the stuff with link building etc I cannot relate or add anything to but I agree 100% with this article.
    • Hesham says:
Thanks Ryan, I really appreciate your comment! Some of bloggers who guest posted here in the past were so new to blogging and we was trying to help each other at that time, now.. look at them today! They have wonderful and powerful blogs, some of them started to make money already, and they are doing pretty well! The funny thing, and maybe it was the right thing to do, is I was telling to our guest posters that it's OK if you don't know the answer or you can not find solution to help someone, you actually don't have to! but you should add a reply, and simply tell them that you don't know! Some times the "I don't know" is better than silence! and I personally do this when I don't know or I can not help! this makes the person who ask for help appreciate your reply because you treat him as a human and respect him as a person! Thanks a lot for stepping by, I hope you are enjoying the WP 3.0 and your new theme!
      • Ryan Hanzel says:
I am not sure about this 3.0. I am having loading issues publishing, deleting, moving posts, and some other functions in WP. Not sure if it is my host compatibility with this version or if it is just bugged. Need to find the time to read up on it.
        • Hesham says:
Thank you for the feedback, I used to upgrade to new version as soon as it's released, but recently I discovered that I shouldn't do that, so.. I prefer to wait for at least one month before upgrading this blog, we are running a blogging contest and need to take it safely out of the door!

Dude, who the hell is disrespecting you. Ironically I just left a comment on Ms Ileane Speaks (read it) and it might have been some sort of telepathy, lol. DM and I'll take care of it, haha (kidding) Anyway, I think I already know you a little bit (ok, more than a little bit) and I can tell just by your words that you are really pissed off. I just don't get it. Why do people insists when you whole heartedly told them to step back? Go figure. Anyway, I agree that you must set up for your value. If they want it, then they should abide by your policy, point blank and nothing else. More power to you bro.
    • Hesham says:
I was just living the moment of writing a new post , but I am good LOL! ;) I am just bored of having to update the "submit your article" page every time there when things like that happen, I want to reduce the volume of emails I am receiving so we can do some good work and take care of our stuff!
  28. Gera says:
I didn’t finish my weekly roundup, yet, but I need to comment on this post, right now! I agree 100% with you because I've this problem often of "guest bloggers" with poor articles and inside have links to companies and to products to be sold. My answer is always the same, hey this is not blogging - these are sponsored blog reviews, so I switch you from blogger to advertiser. I'm over and over repeating the same motto - I'll need to make a canned post for that. Understand your position and with the "opening of guest posts", the game field is contaminated with unclear concepts. Cheers, Gera
    • Hesham says:
at the beginning (before I set the rules of guest blogging here) bloggers used to post their affiliate links as well lol! this makes me laugh because.. Making money from my blog by selling products or services using their affiliate links?! what they are thinking?! LOL! Thank you Gera I am waiting for your weekly roundup

I like reading stuff like this... guess what? If you look and really look at it... don't ever dream your way that people will ever understand you, including me, you just have to put the laws and make sure you don't ever care those that had make your life difficult. You must understand is not how hard you hit, is how much you get hit and keep moving forward.... and that's how winning is done.
    • Hesham says:
I know that there is people who really need money, and those who I want to help most! but if they try to understand we will do much better for all of us! I agree that it's hard to change things, and setting laws could be the key! but also we need to talk about this from time to time to remind each other! Thanks for stepping by!
  30. element321 says:
Hesham, I agree with you and we spoken at length about this before. I can't stand this type of blogging either. I also get tired of seeing and reading absentee guest bloggers, who don't stick around long enough answer questions on their OWN post. How is that helping them? Its lazy and just plan rude...
    • Hesham says:
Hey James, I wrote this post for several reasons, the most important one to me is making my work more easier, so I will send this post link to everyone who is working for a company or selling links when they contact me asking for publishing their articles here! so they will get the picture without having to explain to each of them every time! The second reason is that I am pissed off because those who register to the site and then when they update their profile Bio they add links pointing to some companies and not to their own blogs! they are gaming me some how, but I want them to know that I check everything and I only accept it and pass it if I want to! They really don't understand what we are doing here, and all the hard work we put together and the promotion we do through our several social accounts!
    • David says:
James, this has happened to me. The thing about being a guest blogger is that you don't always have control over when your article gets posted. Sometimes I find out five hours after it is posted. Sometimes I know right away, and I check, and I return and I check and still no comments after 9 or 10 hours. Then a few weeks later I wander by and there were a flood of comments - perhaps the RSS feed sends out only once a day or even less often, who knows? Or somebody submits the post a couple days later to StumbleUpon and there's a flood of traffic. Even on my own blog, where I am theoretically in control, I have a hard time to keep up when comments are made, but as a guest blogger (I've probably done a couple dozen guest posts) I often find it tough.
      • Hesham says:
Just a thought! It would be so nice to get one guest post from you when you have a chance David!
      • element321 says:
David , I agree a lot of bloggers do get busy or have things that make it hard for them to get back to the post to respond and that is perfectly fine. But they do come back and comment. I do that to when I guest post or even on my own blog. The ones that I am talking about are the guest bloggers that put a lot of articles and never comment back, never respond to questions and leave the blog owners to help out with the visitor questions. All these bloggers are interested in put out articles as many places as they can but never stick around to comment.

If I could talk like Mr. T, I would say " I pity the man, who tries to mess with Hesham!". :) This post is so totally unexpected. It certainly caught me off guard, but I'm learning! That's why I love it here. Go Hesham!
    • Hesham says:
LOL! you make me laugh lots! I just want people to understand and try to value themselves and appreciate the hard work of others! It's annoying to see that other are selling your hard work for a cheap price, and while I am rejecting a lot of blog reviews and some other stuff that could hurt the blog, and others are trying to take advantage of every possible chance given to them in a good way by breaking to rules! Have a great day!
    • David says:
LOL Ileane, it's called a rant. Blogger's claim the right to rant whenever we wish. I've done my share, too. :-)
