Affiliate Marketing Business

Conversion is really exquisite in which to act as the soul in affiliate marketing business. It shows your ability either you’ll success or not to sell a product. Conversion is a process to convert costumer candidates to become a loyal costumer. There are so many ways to make it truly nicely work. Normally, the percentage figure is used as a benchmark. If there are 100 costumer candidates visiting your site, and there is only one who decides to buy, thus your conversion rate is 1%. The figure of 1% is pretty good for beginner, and it hopefully advance which accompanied by your experience and skill. The higher conversion rate you can obtain, the more money you have. That’s why we need to accentuate the conversion rate in affiliate marketing business due to how important it is.

There are at least 6 strategies to increase the conversion rate:

1. Request for a name or an e-mail

You have to ask a name or an e-mail to your website or blog visitors. Give them something worth in return. By having their name and e-mail, you can do follow-up until they become your loyal subscribers. In addition, you can convince them who more serious to buy your product continually by having it.

2. Make an Opt In Box

Definitely, you often viewing a box which you can fill with your name and e-mail if you visiting a website. It is called Opt In Box. You have to ensure it’s located beneath the headline or the subheadline, so that people will not forget to fill it.

3. Call to action

Some researches have shown that human brain give some response so much better if commanded to do something obviously. One of fatal mistake of beginner is there is no command for costumers candidates to do something that you desire. Concerning with it, you supposed to have a slight injunction for your visitor to buy the product that you offered soon. Some words such as buy now, visit now and register now are such instance that if you read it, your brain automatically will receive these commands and do it.

4. Use some visualization

For raising the conversion rate and to convince your costumers’ psychologically, use what is called an e-book cover. It’s a visual shape of complete book with the title and the image. As you know-book is a digital product which has no physical form. By displaying a visual shape, your buyers become more convince to buy. A decision to buy is not only measured by the rational way but also the emotional way. Form of the cover of the digital product which is more attractive will advance the sales ratio.

5. Attach your name and photo

By attaching your name and photo on your site, your sales percentage must be rise. Why? Because a cheater generally reluctant to display it. By displaying both of these things, your credibility will be higher. Remember that on the internet the buyer and the seller cannot interact physically and cannot converge directly. The best step to do to overcome it by put your photo, so that your costumers will be more comfortable and closer.

6. Convenience for the buyer

Make your site and your offer as simple as possible to simplify the visitor deciding to buy your product. Do not display several of beautiful animations that make your site loading too long. Most of visitors will wait about 3-4 seconds before they finally closed it. Arrange your site by make it looks like professional and regular shape. Your site similar to a shop; make it as comfortable as possible, so that customers will comfort and then buy your product. You have to ensure the costumers able to find buy now button or register button.

Conversion rate has an important role in affiliate marketing business. By following those strategies, you can raise up to 20%-50% for them who visit your site.

Case study is another factor I think will help as well. I have shown a lot of case study in niche marketing. A MAJOR factor to a sale. Not that clickbank picture stuff. But real step by step results. In fact I even have created mentoring programs because of my sales letter and article links to a point of sale. People want 1. trust 2. proof 3. (really the first) a solution to a problem that they are desperate to solve.
  2. Lucy says:
I really don't get what is conversion rate, can you help me understand it better? Thanks in advance! :)
  3. Mani Viswanathan says:
It's not necessary that people may sign up for every opt-in box we place in our blogs. But luck & the way you promote the products plays a crucial role in Affiliate Marketing
  4. The Bad Blogger says:
well... I think you left out a point that's vital to converting sales, which is having testimonial... at the end of the sales content...

Good advice. However, as an author of a book and a blog on increasing conversion rates, I must point out that you missed one critical detail for achieving good conversion. Test, test, test! Make an opt-in box - and test different placement and layout. Add call to action - and test several variants of how you phrase it. Add product image or your photo - and confirm with a test that it works. Take no-ones word for it, test several variants of each change yourself. Only then you can achieve above-average conversion rates. Also, I'm not sure how to understand your last sentence. If you mean these techniques may increase the conversion rate 20-50%, that's quite possible. If you mean reaching 20-50% overall visitor-to-sale conversion ratio, you are setting expectations too high. Most online businesses find it hard to get even 2%. 5% is a miracle only the best marketers can achieve - by years of hard work and careful testing.

Great tips. I see a lot of people with decent traffic that are making virtually no sales - why, because they haven't read your blog post :) Another tip for increasing your conversions is to limit your advertisements. I see too many people filling their blogs with too many ads. Not only is this discouraging to visitors and spam like, but also you will make more money by promoting the products that actually sell. Take a month to figure out which of your advertisements/products convert the best and focus on those.

Great tips Irvan, everyone must go back to the basics from time to time, to remind ourselves of what works. :)
  8. Alex says:
Hey Irvan, You strike some great points. But I think that having big signs with buy now or register now, some people may stay away because they might thing you are trying to force them to buy. The rest of the points are valid and I especially want to point out "Convenience for the buyer", if you have a cumbersome payment system most of the times buyers will just abandon and try somewhere else. Because we all know how lazy online customers are when they need to fill forms and such.
  9. Pritam says:
Yes, you need to be very specific to your readers that what product you are talking about on your post and website and you should provide them with the pros and cons of the product so that they will not think of cheating by you if they don't find it useful. Autoresponder like Aweber play very vital role in internet marketing.

Great article Irvan! I've already found a pretty good product that matches the general theme of my site through ClickBank. I'm in the process of building a page to promote it as I type this message. I'm looking for a 5% conversion rate, hopefully that will be enough to pay some of my school expenses :)
  11. technosuman says:
Well Irvan! All your six steps are very important. You have to follow all these 6 steps in same order as mentioned. However the third point calling to action is the most important thing out 6 steps followed by convincing your buyers. If you are able to master these two steps then your conversion rate will automatically become higher. In fact essentially you will find difficult to master these two steps but later only these two steps will going to determine you success online. However thank you writing such a great post. Cheers!
  12. Alex Sysoef says:
Interesting how I found your post :-) I just wrote about a slightly different form of improving website conversions. I think people too often overlook its importance and then complain. Thanks for the tips!
  13. Tom says:
Some interesting points. I think using a photo is a great idea on the about page. My problem is that I look very young for 25. Great thing right? Not so much in business, people just don't take me seriously even though I know what I am doing. I like the idea of having a physical book image for an e-book but I associate them with spammy sites now. I have seen so many of these super long sites with 100% guarantee logos splashed all over the place, fake customer reviews and then a picture of an e-book. Shame really.
  14. Patricia says:
Hi Irvan I have just got the opt-in and my newletter up on my site; thanks to my techie friend Ben. Already getting subscriptions after being up a day :-) Having a photo and I believe an "About Me" page helps too. If I go to a new site, I like to know who I am speaking with. This is especially important with customers. Building trust is a must. Patricia Perth Australia
  15. Murlu says:
A lot of small things go a really long way down to even the color of the text and call to actions you use. I work on the backend part of the website at work and I can attest that color combinations really do make a difference in getting people to convert. I also did a few local tests with switching links back to the old school blue which has helped with getting people to click through.
  16. Ryan Biddulph says:
Hi Irvan, I agree with your tips, solid insights here that should develop help to elevate your opt-in rate. The call to action is a biggie. You need to tell people what to do without being forceful. Spare the non stop caps and excessive exclamation points but make sure to be short and direct. Start your call to action sentence with an action verb. Don't include too many verbs because you want your reader to do 1 thing. As for attaching your name and photo I strongly suggest to stick with this practice. Your opt-in rate increases as readers trust you. A smiling face attached to a name builds trust easily. All it takes is an avatar and a line of text. Definitely worth it and you will stick out from the nameless, faceless individuals who tend to have a difficult time making connections with others. Thanks for sharing your insight Irvan. RB

A couple of these things are new to me. The one I hadn't thought about at all is the book image. I can actually think of a few sites that use this technique, and it did add value to their offer. Great tips, and hope you write another article soon - I like your fresh perspective.
  18. Kharim says:
Not bad. I like this article. I am now going to start affiliate marketing and I am really loving the tips that you have provided in this post. I have just applied the #2 point that you made here to my blog, opt-in. Thanks for the post Irvan.
  19. Vivek Parmar says:
great tips, following the reader is quite compulsory and have to convince him to buy a product is little bit difficult task. And its too hard for newbies that doesn't know how-to make money online or to negotiate with readers of their blog. Have to admit that in affiliate marketing you need a little bit of luck also. If its your day no one can stop you. P.S. today i made $200 from affiliate marketing :) that's a luck
