Does Web Hosting Reviews Really Help

December 21, 2010 - Last Modified: December 22, 2010 by Hesham Zebida

web hosting reviews

Today, I was thinking about web hosting reviews sites and if they really help you to decide which web hosting company could be the best for your blog. A friend of mine, ASP programmer,  recently was looking for Windows hosting and we were trying to find cheap hosting for his project.

I really couldn’t help him that much as I haven’t ran an ASP coded site in for 4 years and that was back at my last job as a web designer for some company, at that time we were hosting a client website on a windows server. So I started to ask a few friends and I discovered that no one in the blogging community run websites on Windows, and most of my friends are using WordPress, which runs better on Linux

So, here is how we found a web hosting…

We did a Big Mistake!

We thought we would look around and find a few web hosting reviews sites. He liked one of these sites and decided to go with the hosting company with the best review.

After one week, he contacted me and he was very upset! And, damn it! We discovered the ugly truth!

We discovered that some of these websites have no real reviews, I assume that the web masters who runs these websites added reviews by themselves. They added reivews maybe on their on their point of view, or maybe by looking around to see what other web hosting reviews websites had to say. We found fake reviews and ended up with a full refund.

Alright.. Let’s do it the right way this time!

find web hosting

We started to look again until we found a nice website called WebHostingGeeks.com. We looked into the site and checking the website hosting reviews. It seemed to give fair reviews by real people, although I didn’t like it that much when reviews were made by Anonymous users, but.. Well… At least it says something helpful and still makes sense. Of course, I would love it more if reviews are made by only registered users which add more credibility, and allow you to track those users or members and read all their reviews if they have more than one!

Although it’s fun to read user reviews, if you read some over WebHostingGeeks.com -especially about the best Windows web hosting category- you will know what I mean 🙂 The very good thing was a big help for us to avoid the same mistake this time!

How to Find a Reliable Web Hosting!

When you look for a new web hosting, or if  you are having problems with your hosting and want to move to a better service, whatever you reason is, it makes a lot of sense to start by:

  1. Asking your close and trusted friends
  2. Ask your readers
  3. Check where other blogs you read are hosted at
  4. Probably the last step is to do some research

So, let’s talk about these..

1- Ask your close and trusted friends

Start with your friends, especially your close friends, send a few emails or tweets asking for recommendation, explain to them your web hosting problem or requirements so they can help you best. I’ve done that, and I’ve got amazing responds, it was really really useful.

2- Write a blog post and ask your readers

I also published a blog post asking for my reader’s opinion, and I couldn’t believe the amount of comments and reactions on that post. I’ve gotten a ton of recommendations that really helped me a lot to find the best web hosting solution for my blog.

This even helped me to pass the bad hosting days when FamousBloggers was suffering from bad connections and going down more than once at the same day, I can say that sharing this information and involving your readers is a big thing, you are doing yourself a favor, so instead of being mad at you and hating your blog.. Your blog readers will appreciate your situation and will try to help you if you share with them!

You will not believe that, I even got 4 invitations from friends to host my blog for free on their dedicated servers!!!

The secret here, was to ask! So never hesitate to talk about problems with your blog readers, no body is perfect, and there is a lot of good people who are welling to help, they just don’t know you need their help!

3- Check other blogs

By checking other blogs -especially those blogs which has the same level of development, design elements and amount of traffic your blog gets- you are able to get more ideas about where you can host your own blog, you can also contact owners of these blogs directly using their contact pages and ask them where they are hosting their blogs and if they recommend the same company for you.

4- Do your search and research!

Google for web hosting companies, read information about companies on discussion forums and web hosting reviews sites, check more than one website, take notes about features, web spaces and prices, compare all these data and try to find out which one is th best for you, it doesn’t have to be a cheap hosting,  just choose what’s the best for your blog.

Probably you will get a good advice, I’ve tried five hosting companies during the last a few years, my first was GoDaddy, I had some bad experience with them, which lead me to understand the fact that GoDaddy is the best for Domain names management. I went through 5 other hosting companies, starting from BlueHost where I hosted FamousBloggers. Then things did not work good enough to stay another year with BlueHost and the blog is growing, has heavy code and traffic, and because BlueHost has no other option but only shared hosting, so I had to move FamousBloggers to HosGator VPS servers.

Again.. Does Web Hosting Reviews Really Help?

I think the answer is Yes!.. What you think?

Web hosting reviews sites can help, you just need to be on the right website!

I am looking forward to hear from you, so plz share your thoughts

Here's a trick. CHECK um the host of the hosting reviewer. If a guy is reviewing Host Gator but he's actually using Go Daddy, that's a sign he's full of it! Also, look for passion. I myself review web hosts, and I'm pretty passionate about the ones I actually believe in.
  2. Alex says:
The best reviwer is your experience, but if you only launch your web site and want reliable hosting you really need to make a research and ask those who understand much in this field. Every review is personal and can not be considered as the only truth. But the advice given in this article is pretty practical.
  3. Jason says:
The purpose of web hosting review sites, like other types of review sites, is to provide a quick list with some high level information that can jump start your information gathering process. They are only a first step in the sequence of events leading to a good decision for everyone who initially skipped the requirements definition phase of their hosting project. :-) It may be true that some of the value of review sites is tainted by commission schedules, but I think it is equally true that the threat of serious litigation from hosting companies is also responsible for sugar coated reviews. One only needs to look in Usenet/Google/Yahoo groups to see what unbridled users actually write about the various hosting companies! There are many factors that can contribute to complicating the web hosting selection process but in the final analysis it boils down to whether or not the end user chose wisely in purchasing a service tailored to her/his specific needs. If the user needed lots of technical hand holding but purchased a service known for its rock bottom level of tech support then the likely result is a user who needs someone (other than themselves) to blame. If the user planned on building a website on each of 10 domains but the hosting company chosen only offers a single domain at the entry price point again someone will be unhappy. New webmasters who are not familiar with the well-known need for timely backups are left open to a wide array of potential disasters just waiting to happen and all too often they do. Selecting a webhosting company is certainly not rocket science but it isn't as simple as buying a pair of shoes either. Webhosting review sites certainly provide a beneficial step in the decision making process. One of the aspects that review sites cannot eliminate however is the need for caveat emptor. jason
  4. Garen Arnold says:
Unfortunately, it is true a lot of these sites reviews are fake. They just want to make a quick buck, and don't always have your best interest in mind. I do run a hosting review site too, but I try to find hosting companies that are not good in order to help people stay clear of them. I do recommend some too, but I am trying to set myself apart from the same old same old :). Oh and GoDaddy don't get me started about them. They are horrible! :) Garen

Hi Hesham: You have touched a very good topic. Your suggestions are exactly right to choose a cheap hosting. As how much written reviews you may read it is the experience with these sites that makes a difference and tells you exactly about, service from this hosting sites and how the server works. Hesham writing a blog post asking everyone's opinion and asking your friends who have already used the site is the best way to find out. Thank you for such an awesome information. fran A
  6. Jilpa says:
I had hosted at least 5 sites at Unlimitedgb.com and every time it was so easy. Great support, great service, I recommended them to so many people, they deserve it."
  7. James Pruitt says:
Hey Hesham, I agree with you totally. but it isn't just related to hosting review sites, but how lazy marketers do review sites in general. 90% of the people out there have never seen the products they review, and just recommend based on comissions, and what they get out of it. I think this is a huge reason why the FTC regulations are trying to crack down on these fake review style sites. Now, I do reviews from time to time myself, and they can be really profitable, but, at the same time, You have to be careful who you trust. I only trust reviews from people that I have gotten to know, and that I am sure really do reviews of the products. I also look to see how many reviews they have done. I see people who seem to have the "best product" of the week, and they are always doing that to just scrape as much cash out of people they can.
  8. Aakash says:
Your point no 3 is quite vital and important as well. But I think you should also go for those hosting which are local with their office address and you can easily contact to them.
  9. Mani Viswanathan says:
Yes, it does help at times. If you a powerful Social Media guy, then you may get even good offers since you know the person u are dealing with.
    • Aakash says:
Yes if they can offer from their affiliate commission. I saw many affiliates do that.
  10. Isabel Rodrigues says:
At times I do check different review sites. It does help when you need something for cheap :D However before purchasing i also do some research on different forum sites to ensure the reviews are real.
    • Hesham says:
Yes Isabel, this is what we need.. real reviews from real people!
      • Aakash says:
Yes Hesham And because of that many new bloggers come to famousbloggers to get right idea about it. We are happy that you are showing them right direction to get the right hosting. What do you think about buying hosting from the local provider ?
  11. jarret says:
Finding good hosting can be a challenge particularly for new bloggers. You're right though, I've looked around at web hosting review sites--they did seem like a bunch of fake reviews loaded with affiliate links that were optimized to rank well under popular search terms. I first started hosting my own blog back in March of this year. At the time, I didn't have a clue about hosting providers really. I didn't have big plans either, so I went with a cheap plan linked to from the WordPress site for Dreamhost. It was something like 2 years for $45 or so which seemed like a good idea at the time. In short, Dreamhost was terrible and I started with a cheap shared hosting plan then moved to their VPS plan. Both were horribly unreliable in terms of both downtime and speed. I finally got around to moving to Hostgator VPS a few months ago and I haven't had a single problem since.
    • Hesham says:
I thought finding a web hosting is a hard job for new bloggers only, but the fact is I did a big mistake myself, but now I think I've learned the lesson.. at least better than before :) HG VPS is cool, and I love their support.. really!
  12. James King says:
This is a very interesting subject related to web hosting. As I now work for a web hosting company I can give more insight on how a hosting company works. There are many types of web hosting including: VPS hosting, dedicated hosting, cloud hosting and shared hosting. A large number of web hosting providers will offer shared web hosting. Where many websites and blogs are placed on one server. Although, it's cheaper it's not always the best way to store your website or blog. If that server goes down every website will go down as well. If the server becomes overloaded so does the response time of the website. This is what causes a slow blog or website. Purchasing web hosting that's cheap isn't always the answer. A datacentre costs millions to develop. The data centre is a high secure environment where thousands of servers are located containing thousands upon thousands of websites, blogs and online applications. This is the best place for your website in a highly secure datacentre. There are many features that include: air conditioning, backup generators and fire suppression systems these are all standard and manned 24 x 7 by security and engineers. This is something that's not discussed when purchasing web hosting, because it's too technical. However, it's one of the most important things when choosing web hosting is the environment of where your hosting will be stored. Many thanks James King
    • Hesham says:
Hey James, It's great to hear an opinion from someone who have your experience, I am sure that so many people needed to know this info! Many thanks for adding huge value to the post!
  13. Alex says:
I usually, not only on hosting, try to find as many sources of information about certain providers (after i compile a list from search lists of my products vendors on the internet). Then I search the providers one by one and read review/opinions/rants about them on forums, websites, blogs and some other sources. I note all the pros and cons I find for each provider then compare all. I usually find one provider that detaches way ahead of the others or sometimes I get two providers, and I usually got to their websites and decide there. P.S. as a joke, I recommend nouptime.com, read carefully the plans, reviews and all that :))
    • Hesham says:
haha.. good one :) Damn it.. I am still laughing and I forgot what I wanted to say haha
      • RinatisDinoro says:
You are laughing in your avatar and you are laughing at posts! Bravo, live the life at its full Hesham :)
        • Hesham says:
          That's a good catch :)
  14. Dennis Edell says:
    Your 1 2 3 4 is the exact order I do it, and haven't had a problem yet. ;-)
    • Hesham says:
      Lucky :)
  15. Rob says:
I think website hosting is all relative to what you want to do. First off let me say that I would NEVER recommend godaddy or network solutions. I have found many times that their server speed is poor and functionality is the same. For regular sites I would recommend dreamhost/hostgator if your tech capable. I would not, however, use these for more sophisticated programming like django.
    • Hesham says:
Ah! this is what I said in a reply to a comment below, slow.. slow hosting! I agree with you Rob, this is excellent! Many thanks
    • jarret says:
Rob, I started out on a shared plan with Dreamhost. I didn't have a clue at the time. With 1 blog that was getting maybe 300 page views per day or less, I started getting server overload problems. They recommended that I switch to their VPS plan. Haha, I ended spending about $30 a month to host a non-revenue generating blog at the time that was barely getting any traffic. I had a terrible experience with Dreamhost. They ended up switching my VPS server no less than 5 times due to problems with the servers I was on. In between server changes, I still had to reset the server at least 2-5 times per week while I was with them. My sites went down for hours at a time... Dreamhost's tech support was even worse. Every time I had a problem, they would blame it on a plugin and send me a friendly email with a link to a dreamhost wiki--that's it. I had to email them a million times to get them to do anything to resolve problems. I should have switched earlier than I did, but I'm not very tech savvy. I finally moved to Hostgator when I got a deal on a VPS plan and they migrated my sites for free. Anyway, enough of my 'rant' about Dreamhost, but prompt replies with little info and a wiki link was pretty irritating for me. :p Hostgator's support is 100x better since their techs can be reached by phone and they seem to actually know what they're doing. :p I probably wouldn't recommend Dreamhost to my worst enemy even if I received an affiliate commission. Dreamhost was an absolute nightmare for me.
      • Hesham says:
Wow! Thank you Jarret for sharing this great info, I know that you are experienced with web hosting as we have talked about this before! Excellent!
  16. DiTesco says:
In my opinion web hosting review sites do help. Obviously it depends on the website giving the review. If it is a reliable source then I think it is worthwhile. Sometimes, I like to "look" at various and different opinions. Kinda like going to a doctor and asking for a second opinion. Web hosting review sites can provide this second opinion specially if they are user generated. Although I don't use it know because I am satisfied with my provider, I did use it when I was in that "searching" phase. Did it weigh in my decision? Definitely.
    • Hesham says:
I agree with you my friend, Ask me about web hosting one or two years back and I will say I don't even know how to find it! I think we can define which review sites are helpful and which are full of crap after one or two years of blogging :) You are the man!
  17. Andreas says:
Web hosting reviews usually don't help me because they are mostly somewhat biased, especially when affiliations come into place. The best tip is to find as much information about the service of a specific host from as many different people as possible and find some individual websites that are hosted on their servers.
    • Hesham says:
We always need to know what works from real people! thank you Andreas for sharing your opinion
  18. TJ McDowell says:
Hesham, I've had mostly good experience with GoDaddy. They've got GREAT support in my opinion. They're reasonably priced. Easy to use. What kind of issues did you have with them in the past?
    • Hesham says:
mmmm .. Maybe the problem was because of me :) I play a lot with the codes haha Their servers are more slow than others I've tried, and their support to me was extremely slow as well! I hate it when a hosting disable my database before letting me know! I hate it when customer services don't know the answer to your question! Of course you don't have to listen to what I say about bad experience as it's only with me, that was 2 years back anyways! Thanks man for sharing this
  19. DB Baker says:
It really helped me as I didn't just signed up with the regular BlueHost or HostGator that everyone is promoting. I checked out http://webhostinggeeks.com/ and I signed up with 2 of the hosting services recommended there and I can say I am 100% happy about both services.
    • Hesham says:
Pretty cool! Glad you have found your way DB Baker! Thank you for stopping by
  20. Lennart Heleander says:
Hi Hesham, It is a jungle out there, which can you trust, reviews, friends, ect. I only go after support and server security, in the end of the day is that the quality we all are looking for.
    • Hesham says:
I can't agree with you more Lennart!
  21. wasim ismail says:
Reviews and feedback help with many products, its always good to hear what others have to say and experience, before you plunge into buying a product or service, Also when looking for a reliable hosting company you need to take into consideration Support Reliability Security on the server So when looking for reviews and feedbacks you can look out for the above quick points.
    • Hesham says:
Wasim, you have just mentioned three very important things! Many thanks!
  22. Devesh says:
Nice Post Hesham. Actually when i first started blogging, i wasted 3 months in chossing a good hosting company. Now i'm on hostgator and it is one of the best hosting. Thanks for sharing!
    • Hesham says:
Sorry to hear that Dev, and yes.. HostGator is one of the best web hosting for WordPress as I witnessed this.
  23. Pete Carr says:
Hi Hesham, I think it is the same with all things. I look for reviews for software, most of the time you just get bias affiliates promoting it, this can be the same for web hosting. As you have said ask around. With Twitter and Facebook it is easy now to get straight up answers. Pete
    • Hesham says:
Yes Pete, that's correct, I've learned to buy things that has what I feel it's honest and "smart" review that talks about goods and bads, and of course money back guarantee for this reason! And.. yes.. what I like about Twitter and Facebook and you always get fresh opinions! Thank you Pete, great to know your opinion
  24. Roko Nastic says:
I have always been reading hosting reviews prior choosing host as I believe they can be very helpful. But you should read reviews from multiple sources and take every review with the grain of salt as they can be biased, both positive and negative ones. The problem with most hosting review sites (I am not innocent myself) is that they list companies who have good affiliate terms, big payouts. Many of these sites will have honest reviews, but will not list companies with low commission although those providers might be great and better to recommend. WebmasterFormat is hosted at one of the hosts you will hardly find on hosting review sites - eApps, and they are excellent host. Very professional company. Although probably will not be of interest to many bloggers as they don't have shared packages.
    • Hesham says:
Hey Roko, I know you are interested in this topic, and I agree with you completely about going for more than one resource before picking up your mind! Thank you for sharing information about your hosting
  25. Tom says:
If you actually stop and think about it, by basing your decision off those review sites it is just like asking a random person for business advice. I don't know about you, but the only people I ask for business advice are people that I personally know and trust. I remember looking at those review sites when I was last shopping for a new host (ended up with HostGator just like you Hesham!), and you always seemed to get both extremes (those estatic with a company and those who were calling it a scam) - I just wanted some happy mediums. Your four step process is exactly what people should be doing if they were looking for a new host!
    • Hesham says:
Tom, I agree with you, I personally start with my trusted and experienced friends, those who will give me an honest opinion without trying to sell anything to me, then it's up to me to decide! Thank you buddy, your time is much appreciated
  26. Pritam says:
This is not the case of web hosting reviews but you get fake reviews literally for anything. Either the reviews are made by the website owners or the affiliates. Now a days its very difficult to get the genuine reviews. The points you mentioned for finding the best hosting are the best one and you don't need to go for checking in Google. The best you can do is check other popular blogs and check where they are hosted.
    • Hesham says:
I can not agree more with you Pritam, fake reviews everywhere! and thank you so much for your opinion, I really appreciate it!
  27. Patricia says:
Hi Hesham I had experienced marketers recommend my hosting company to me as I didn't know where to go. Has proved to be the right one for me. Excellent tech support and they are soooo patient when I ask so many questions if I get stuck lol Also I know that some companies that have reviews have them from people who are their affiliates so they are not unbiased opinions. It's a hard one as how do you know if they are genuine reviews or not?! For me, it was asking those who had been networking for awhile and had experience. I always need good support as I know so little about the techie stuff that I want a service that can sort for me and keep my blog running. Patricia Perth Austalia
    • Hesham says:
Exactly, support is the most important thing, then everything else comes after! I personally can not handle bad support at all! Thank you Patricia for sharing your thoughts and experience
  28. James Johnston says:
Hesham, Its great to point this out. When I first started researching for hosting companies, we found several sites we thought had great reviews and picked our hosting company. We didn't realize how bad of service it was until it was past the refund stage. It was great until then, great support and then after the full refund period was over, support got worse and we were routed to overseas support. When our contract was about over I started again, I went back to looking for reviews, I realized that all those great reviews were done by the website owners or by hosting company reviewers giving recommending to a junk hosting company. Now I only use webhostinggeeks and one other site (can't remember the name) to get my reviews. I automatically dismiss any reviews that sound like 'canned' response from a hosting company (to perfect to be true) and those that complained and gave bad reviews because they couldn't figure something simple out or site went down once). Out of everything I have found and trust, Hostgator seems to be the best for what I need and I recommend this to all my clients.
    • Hesham says:
Yeah, this is exactly what happened with us! Thank you for sharing James!
  29. Natalie says:
I got a gig about a year ago and it was to write hosting reviews. However my employer gave me the money to set up a hosting account first, use it for a month and then write my review. Not all sites have false reviews.
    • Hesham says:
Hi Natalie, it's really cool to test first, and by the way I've done a a few tests myself when I moved the blog before choosing the new home! I wasted some money but I've learned from it a big lesson! one good option for us is money back guarantee , I like this because at least you try a web hosting and if you don't like, ask for your money back, the problem that will remain is wasting time when you really need it! P.S. Turkey was and will be always be in my plans, I would love to visit one day with my wife and have a nice vacation!
  30. Dan says:
I think it is very hard to find reliable reviews. Webmaster often try to push the products (webhosting in this case) that bring them the biggest commission from affiliate programs. So you rather trust the webmaster/blogger or you better ask your friends...
    • Hesham says:
Dan, Every author or webmaster has the right to affiliate all companies in his hosting review site, after all he don't really care which hosting is selling more as he is actually selling something! The rest is up to real reviews in this case, so probably this is an invitation for all of us to write more reviews, say what we have to say about web hosting services we are using, this will make it reliable! I would go for all options before I take a decision, friends are great help but some times if they don't know what exactly your needs and budget is, they can give you a misleading advice and send your blog behind the sun where no body can see it :) So, it's your own decision at the end because no one knows your need but only you for real, so when asking friends ask more then one friend and make sure to explain to them your problem or your blog needs clearly so they can help! Thank you so much for your input!
  31. Kevin says:
I've looked through many web hosting review sites before I started my blog. I felt that the reviews were not genuine at all. Most of the review sites I've been to has the same top 10 web hosting list. I think they just model the most popular review sites and do the same thing they're doing. I host with Hostgator and most of the review sites I was on didn't even list Hostgator as one of their Top 10's. I ended up using Hostgator because most of the blogs I visit, that's what they use. So here I am today. Hostgator was the decision so far. My blogs are up and running smoothly as ever.
    • Hesham says:
Kevin, looking through more than one website is a good thing to do, it's how you really know the differences, which useful and which is not! Let me tell you this as it's what I think... HostGator shouldn't be on the top list because they are not serving a wide range of clients needs, for example they don't have Windows hosting! and probably this is the reason why they can not be on the top! But if we look to it from another side then yes.. probably it will show on the top 10! HostGator is a reliable web hosting, I really love their support, but like any other shared hosting (I assume you are on shared hosting plan), it will start give you problems as your website grow and you will need then to upgrade to another level! What I mean is web hosting has to match your blog or website needs, this is how it will work best! Glad you found Hostgator as it's a good start for bloggers!
      • Kevin says:
I see what you mean. I didn't think about window vs linux. I was just looking for something reliable and worth my money. Yep! I'm currently on their shared hosting plan. I'm definitely upgrading to their VPS plan for 2011. I understand that I have to find something that can compensate my blog's growth. Hostgator is really the way to go when you're just starting out online. I'm glad that I switched over to HostGator.
        • Hesham says:
HostGator VPS is good and it's price is good as a managed VPS hosting, so the switch is recommended when you need it and you have a chance! good luck Kevin, and more power to you!
  32. Ryan Biddulph says:
Great tips Hesham. Sticking to your 4 step formula covers all the basics. See what the word is on the grape vine by chatting with your closest friends. Then check in with your readers; many different perspectives here. Follow up by hitting the blogosphere than finally do the most in depth due diligence. Do the leg work now. It pays off in the future when you've found the best hosting for your needs. Thanks for sharing and have a powerful day! RB
    • Hesham says:
It's a very simple tips I followed when I did the move, and I just remembered my friend story when I started to write this post, so I thought it would be a good chance to share it because I personally learned from it! It's really painful to choose web hosting and discover something went wrong latter, and in next stage I won't be enjoying moving 20 websites from here to there! Thank you Ryan, kind like always :)

I didn't find that web hosting reviews really helped me either, unfortunately. Here's how I now proceed. I look at the platform I'm going to run, and then I look to see who really runs it well. Not who *can* run it, but who REALLY runs it well. Then I check the forums (official CMS forums) and see what people are saying. On the Joomla forums the hosting providers comment frequently so I could see what they were bringing to the table. For Wordpress I looked to see who was hosting some of the big design sites I visit frequently, then when I noticed a lot were using the same one I went with them (although not with the top-tier CDN enabled service that they were using). Earlier I had went with a few duds. It can end up being a costly and frustrating mistake. I hate to say it but sometimes you have to get burned before it really hits home which hosting provider is going to be the best for you. Damn this is long, sorry! Anyway I'll wrap this up by saying I hadn't heard of webhostinggeeks before now but I'll check them out in the future and see what info I can get out of them if I decide to take on a new host. Thanks, Hesham!

Excellent John, I can imagine that design related blogs and sites required a really good hosting, that was great to start from where others ended and save your time! And by the way, I am waiting for a good chance to move to a dedicated hosting as it's the best if we can afford it! And as I said, I still think web hosting reviews can help, but only if you are on the right site! I really enjoyed your comment, it's rich, and my friend what cost you to wrote is what drives me to read it and reply, the good thing is my web hosting will not charge extra :) Many thanks for adding your experience!
