Why It’s Easy to Get Rich as a Blogger – But Most Bloggers Will Never Be

March 21, 2011 - Last Modified: March 21, 2011 by Alex Papa 2,360

Rich Bloggers

The creation of my “philosophy of success” for any online or offline business encompasses the experience, expertise, and influence that I have gained as an internet entrepreneur and a guest speaker at various business seminars and events around the world.

My business background has opened doors and created many opportunities for me to meet, interview, learn and observe from some of the most successful internet entrepreneurs in the business.

Why the Difference between Rich and Poor is in The Mindset?

I readily embarked on this project because of my suspicion that these smart bloggers have traits and beliefs in common, including how they work, communicate, and interact with others. The discoveries I made about how a blogger can be rich have been incredible; It is not how hard you work and what you do, it is all about how you think! The difference between the rich and poor bloggers is a mental one – not a physical as one would expect. If you want to learn how the rich (and famous bloggers) do it, you may want to know how they think. Let me expand.

My relationship with many of these exceptional internet entrepreneurs has been up close and personal as we worked side by side, day by day, and week by week. My involvement gave me the opportunity to be present to observe them from the time they started from scratch all the way to their achievement of great wealth. I have personally seen  how they make thousands of dollars every day.

One of the things I discovered was that radical minded internet entrepreneurs are not your standard run of-the-mill millionaires. One particular and exceptional difference separates these individuals into an incredible 1% of the online population. Their millionaire net worth, unlike equity investors, is usually in cash. This means they not only enjoy great financial net worth, but they are also very liquid. They have a truck-load of cash in the bank.

Renegade Blogger Millionaires – Who Are They?

When I make reference to the term “renegade millionaires,” I am referring to individuals who did not inherit their wealth. They built it themselves from nothing, independently, through their entrepreneurial endeavors and practices. What do these bloggers possess or know that separates them from other average bloggers who never come close to achieving this level of success?

Blogger Millionaires – What are Their 7 Mindset Commonalities?

These renegade blogger millionaires have more than seven similarities. This article will address the most important ones to explain why these people have achieved so much success. It is obvious that there must be key differences that have allowed them to become cash rich and financially independent.

The seven similarities among blogger millionaires include:

  1. Each of them has an entrepreneurial mission, with a clearly defined business philosophy to back it up. They have a set of ideals and beliefs when it comes to how they approach blogging as a business. They know why they make every decision they make. This business philosophy would drive these individuals to succeed in any business endeavor, not just an internet business.
  2. Their approach to marketing is different from the mainstream. When they do market, their tactics are smart and driven.
  3. Their skills give them the ability to create extremely profitable businesses in months as opposed to years, giving them a fast track to success.
  4. These individuals can easily see product and service value that most others miss.
  5. They do not become obsessed or consumed when it comes to niche or keyword competition, which is common among most other blog owners. Instead of becoming bogged down worrying about the competition, they are proactive and productive in their own work and business goals. They create new niches and they are at the front when the rest of the crowd is only “waking-up” to the opportunity. When the crowds enter the market, these amazing individuals usually exit.
  6. They view themselves at the center of the world, with everything revolving around them to help them to make more money.
  7. Their pricing ideas are unique. They fervently believe they can sell anything at any price if there is a market for it.

Blogger Millionaires – What’s Their Perspective about Money?

The majority of people who want their own blog business do so because they want to set their own schedule, have no boss, work at home, have more time with family, travel frequently, and be independently wealthy. Renegade internet millionaires have a different perspective. They are not in business to work from home or set their own schedule. They miss their family and kids when away, but see it as a part of the business requirements. They aren’t concerned about traveling around the world. They have entirely different reasons for wanting to be in the blogging business.

Why Most Bloggers Will Never Be Rich

How many bloggers start the morning ready to dedicate the day to becoming wealthy? Very few! Most bloggers commit to completing comment tasks, post new articles, answering emails, and responding to other bloggers posts, but not to getting wealthy. The farthest thing from their mind is net worth, financial liquidity, or cash flow. How do they expect to make big money if money is not the first and main thing in their mind?

There are varying reasons for this. Some people lack ambition, or they spend the majority of time on problem solving, emailing, blogging, housework, child care, and other time consuming tasks both personal and business related.

Sadly, they deny this fact. They do see themselves as being in the blogging business. Maybe they think they are working for their blog. However, they are not in the business of making money or becoming rich.

Why there is No Competition in Being Rich as a Blogger

rich bloggers

Blogger millionaires are devoted totally to the business of making money. The percentage of bloggers wanting to get really rich by dedicating their efforts to doing so is a very small one, resulting in very little competition. This is why these internet millionaires comprise a mere 1% of the blogging population.

The question is: What part of the blogging population do you want to be?

Hi Alex, Must agree with every point you raised. It's unfortunate that many bloggers only think of themselves as bloggers and not entrepreneurs. Doing the usual everyday stuff as a blogger should be with one aim - building an income generating business! I made a post on this a few days ago and from the response to that post and from what I've seen here in the responses, I know this is really a problem amongst bloggers. Thanks for educating everyone of us.

interesting read.. as a brand new blogger coming to this article for some inspiration, i must say that i don't see myself being a millionaire from blogging, as my focus isn't so much money driven.. i find that focusing on money as the final outcome leads to much frustration & stress.. i like to think that focusing on a passionate & inspiring blog could ultimately lead to a substantial income.. "if you follow your bliss, you'll never work a day in your life"
  5. Timothy Arends says:
How many bloggers start the morning ready to dedicate the day to becoming wealthy? No one "dedicates the day to becoming wealthy." They dedicate the day to taking the steps that can lead to wealth.
  6. Himanshu says:
It need time. quantity quality time you spend on your venture takes you up the ladder.
  7. Latief says:
May be my mistake is by setting my blogging goal just for sharing and not tread my blog as a business. With this article I think I need to review my blogging activities and my blogging goal. Thanks for sharing and I hope I'll become that 1% in the future Alex ;)

Amazing post Alex, kudos to you man. Just wanted to add that the difference in mentality which differentiates the rich from the rest, also makes the first to identify opportunities where the laters see only threat. A successfull entrepreneur told me once: "after I pray for a door to open, I kick it hard and guess what; it opens".
  9. James Martell says:
Hey Alex, great post. You mentioned "How many bloggers start the morning ready to dedicate the day to becoming wealthy? Very few!" It is so true. I know in my day I can fill it up so easily with busy work. For me email was a killer. I say WAS because I no longer "answer" email. In fact, I rarely even open them. I believe my Gmail account has 6000-7000 unanswered emails. Do I feel bad? No. Do I miss things that are important? Sometimes. Do I care? Yes but in the grand scheme of making money I was finding email for me was the number one time killer...and that time waste was directly proportionate to income. To further illustrate your point "How many bloggers start the morning ready to dedicate the day to becoming wealthy? Very few!" Let me ask it another way "How many bloggers start the morning ready to dedicate the day to making money today?" It is a microcosm of your original premise but worth pondering. And that includes me. On days I am not paying attention to the task of making money it shows. On the days I am focused on making money I do. I work closely with a friend attempting to help her build her online business. It's an uphill battle to get her to focus on the money making tasks and invariably she'll be checking her email, or responding to friends in Facebook or surfing the web. It's all about focus and intent. James

Hi JamesThanks for being here and sharing your valuable opinion. There is a vast difference between working for money and making money. Only those who have the destination of making money become richer.Regards Alex
    • stevenpapas says:
Hi James, you are pointing out a big issue which tortures everyone : focusing on cluttering than on productive actions. Email, Youtube and Facebook are the three time killers most people fall for, once they sit in front of their PC. There's a huge difference between bying productive and just being busy, which determines the successful from the failed.
  10. Mani Viswanathan says:
Well, it's the vision of a blogger which makes the difference. If one aims to be successful, then there is no one stopping him from being successful & earning loads of money.

Hi Alex this is Great post and good Point! Especially for the seven similarity entrepreneur. I agree with you, every success full entrepreneur have the mission and vision.
  13. Bryan says:
Hey Alex, Very thought provoking post. I read with quite a lot of interest what you wrote here. The thing that is kind of bugging me at the back of my head while reading this was the fact that you mentioned that bloggers who make millions are those who forgo to conventional commenting, networking, writing articles. I believe this is quite an integral part of blogging and it does build the foundation to a successful blog that can make a lot of money. Mindset is certainly important. I believe what sets the successful entrepreneurs from those who aren't are those who have the right frame of mind to help them make it. But I also think that working hard is also part of the process. (Maybe I'm wrong here too..) Anyway, I'm not telling this like i'm an expert but I probably need someone like you to enlighten me about this area further.
    • Alex Papa says:
Hi Bryan! Thanks for the visit and your opinion. While we do agree that the networking, commenting increase traffic and revenue, the concept of growing richer and not stagnating in the graph is possible only when an individual devotes exclusively to blogging. Regards Alex :-)
  14. Sandeep says:
good post.. would seriously love to meet these kind of bloggers someday.. However, when you refer to mundane tasks... i mean you really need to go through them to get there... if you don't know the grind ... how will u ever reach the top.. Every person has to start somewhere at lease..
    • Alex Papa says:
Hi SandeepAgreed and point taken - the concept reiterated here is to emphasize growth from that point and further to avoid stagnationRegards Alex
      • Sandeep says:
        Cheers to you :)
  15. Murray Lunn says:
Most bloggers do exactly what you've explained: they use their time to complete smaller tasks that aren't contributing to their digital assets. Believe me, responding to comments and interacting with other bloggers is extremely beneficial to make an impact and grow your network but you have to set a time and place for yourself to work on the larger goals - instead of doing "the daily tasks". You have to go beyond blogging and begin to build digital assets that are within the niche areas of your blog. You have to go into new ventures using the knowledge you have from blogging that can easily be applicable in nearly any online business (content creation, marketing, etc).
    • Alex Papa says:
Thanks Murray for the understanding! We need to become successful entrepreneurs from being normal bloggers in the blogosphere Regards Alex
  16. Sean Supplee says:
Great post and great points. In order to be successful its in the mind set and putting out any and all negatives. You need to work out a plan and structure your business around it. In order to become successful you need to surround yourself with people that are already successful. Get your name out there.
    • Alex Papa says:
Thank you for being here. Glad you liked the post :-)
  17. Fisayo Sanyaolu says:

    • Alex Papa says:
Thanks :-) Wishing you all the best
  18. Dave Lucas says:
So who are these "most successful internet entrepreneurs in the business" ? - the link you list doesn't give a clue! To conjure up an old phrase: "Where's the beef?" I read your article twice, Alex, and it is not registering...
