I recently installed Tapatalk on my forum, I definitely recommend it to any of you guys who run a forum along side their blog. I'm not sure how many of my users actually use the app but I certainly do! Great for keeping an eye on things on the move. It's free to install on the forum but the app can cost depending on which mobile OS you use.

It's been pretty awesome lately to stumble across websites on my cell phone to see that they've optimized their website for mobile use. It always makes me smile! And it's so easy to optimize for mobile use, too! Great infograph!

This is the second post this week that I've run across letting me know that I better get my blog set up for mobile viewing. I'm not a big mobile person which is why I never really thought about this before. But I know mobile is exploding and everyone I know uses it for everything so I better get on the bandwagon. Thanks for this reminder and I guess I better do a post on this for my readers as well. Thanks for pointing this out. Now I better get my "you know what" in gear!!! :-) Adrienne

That's absolutely incredible. Mobile devices are becoming so widely used, that it's becoming so crucial to "mobilize" your blog and online properties. I haven't put enough focus on the mobile scene as I should - and need to get up to date quick!
  12. Nasrul Hanis says:
Absolutely right! And consumers nowadays feel more comfortable to get and search everything they want everywhere on their hands!

Thanks for the wonderful insight. It is excellent to know that what most people are using in their phone -- Games!!! I notice that mobile is the current trend and there are more and more people using smart phone and it just become normal to have a smart phone, be it Iphone, or others... I remember 5 years ago, only my brother, sister and I, have a mobile phone. Now, My mum and dad and most of us has almost 2 phone. I'm not a super fan of smart phone though I am using one. I mainly use it as a conventional mobile phone, as long as I can ring and sms, together with some fundamental function like alarm, etc...That is good for me. I am sure in the next few years when more the infrastructure is getting more advanced, i.e wireless hot spot everywhere and super fast broadband, etc...will propel the use of smart phone to replace desktop! By the way, I am using WP Touch plugin for my blog and it works great!

Killer Inforgraphic. I keep saying I'm going to do an Inforgraphic post at some point, but always end up tied up doing a billion other things. Very nice work. All though I havent optimized my blog or my business blogs for mobile devices they seem to load and look fine on my Android devices and iphone devices. I'll see if I can put some of these tips to use.
  17. Tuan says:
Thanks for sharing the nice infographic, Nasif. It is necessary to optimize our blogs for mobile phones now as more and more people are using their smartphones to access to the Internet. Btw, do you know a good theme/tool to build mobile version for Wordpress?
    • Nasif says:
You can use ready made themes available at a cheaper price from theme forest, later you can customized the theme through CSS. You can get it all here, http://themeforest.net/category/wordpress/mobile Either way you can use the free plugin, from http://mobilepress.co.za/ which includes a a default theme which you can redesign by editing CSS. And here's a cool tutorial on how to make a mobile wordpress theme, http://www.catswhocode.com/blog/how-to-create-a-mobile-wordpress-theme-with-jquery-mobile

    Nice representation using Infographics.
  19. fred says:
I absolutely agree. More and more people are surfing the web and browsing blogs on their smartphone platforms like Android and iOS...myself included -- I love Android, personally. Some sites offer features like the one you mentioned where you can automatically have a specially formatted version for mobile platforms. This is quickly becoming a necessity!

That's one hell of an infographic! Awesome stuff. I dove into mobile customization once, but for some reason I never got it to work properly. I guess checking out Kristi's tutorial is worth a try

I use my smartphone a lot on the web, and are also using a SE android to post this comment. But as a mobile user my impression is that mobile optimization is doing more bad than god. The Wp touch is boring ugly, and have a bad user interface for smartphone users. I dont even bother looking for feeds, twitter or FB profile, or sharing options. Not to forget that the ads have no visibility at all. The funny thing is that most websites is easy to use without any plugins on a smartphone. The infograph shows a large amount of sms enabled phones, but how many of these are used on the web? I think the growth in mobile acceded mostly comes from smartphones. My advice is to avoid flash, and just keep the sites as they are if the show ok on a smartphone. Try a smartphone and judge yourself if your in doubt...
