Discussion: Important Traits of a Blogger

Since the first post is all about the traits you need to have as a blogger I thought of starting a discussion about it. What do you think are traits that you need to have as a blogger? What is important?

I personally think that passion is one of the most important traits you need to have as a blogger. But you also need to be persistent and keep trying out new things. If you are good at writing then this is definitely good but I don’t think that it’s a requirement as a blogger.

I am just new to blogging concepts and your post has opened another portal for me to learn more about why bloggers blog, etc. I may not be as enthusiastic as before I started, but having to learn the hardships of being a blogger is something I have to overcome myself. Thank you for sharing this interesting list of articles!

  6. Lennart Heleander says:
First time I heard about MMO was from Hesham in one other article, It’s a interesting structure of blog for new bloggers who want to come out. I going to look closer over the articles.
    • Julius Kuhn-Regnier says:
Be sure to do so. Remember that MMO is also a do follow network that means you always get a link back to your site if you submit an article to it. I hope you enjoy the articles, thanks for the comment Lennart.
  7. Colleen says:
Very good Julius. I'll have to take a peek at these.
    • Julius Kuhn-Regnier says:
Hope you do Colleen :) Tell me what you think about them once you have read them.
  8. Cindy says:
important traits of a Blogger... hmm... variety I guess :) Maybe change once in a while the usual trend on how you present your posts.. so people dont get bored easily seeing the same style over and over. But if you have unique content each day, it might not matter that much.
    • Julius Kuhn-Regnier says:
Interesting idea. It could be that people get bored but I am not sure whether they get bored easily. I think you can avoid that if you are writing about your own experience and the things you have done on your own. For example in the Internet marketing niche I would write about my experience with different products and test lots of different websites. That way your readers won't get easily bored.
  9. Ashley says:
Thanks for sharing these articles. I look forward to reading them and learning from them.
    • Julius Kuhn-Regnier says:
I hope you do Ashley. Once you have read them stop by and tell me which one you liked the most :)
  10. Dean Saliba says:
I had never heard of MMO Social Network before reading this. I will definitely have to check them out and see if I can get some extra exposure by publishing my articles there. :)
    • Julius Kuhn-Regnier says:
Yeah check out MMO. As I've mentioned above it's a dofollow network so that's definitely a bonus. Also if you submit your articles there then you always have a chance to get listed in this round up.
  11. Source Blogger says:
My experience with MMO Social Network has been great! Love the network of bloggers there and the traffic you receive is awesome. Thank you for listing my article: "Where to Find Free Legal Content For Your Blog." I hope you all enjoy it. Your friend, Jeffrey Baril - Source Blogger "Determined to make you a better blogger!" http://sourceblogger.com
    • Julius Kuhn-Regnier says:
Thanks Jeffrey. MMO social network is a great place to promote your articles. Keep on submitting articles :)
  12. Laura Davis says:
A good blogger needs to be patient, persistent, have a basic understanding of social interaction, know how to monetize, have some writing skills, know how to use the internet, be willing to make online connections, and not be afraid to put him or herself out there.
    • Julius Kuhn-Regnier says:
All true Laura. But I think the most important part of blogging is passion don't you think? Or let me put it this way, passion will definitely help you a lot to create a successful blog. What do you think?
      • Laura Davis says:
I definitely think passion is one of the most important things. Otherwise, what keeps you going? You definitely have to be passionate about what you're doing to keep you motivated.
  13. Julius says:
Nice article and quite informative. Thanks for sharing. I think you need to be a good reader as well to become a better blogger. It seems pointless that you could write well, market your articles wonderfully, but never takes the time to read other people's work.
    • Tran Tinh says:
Agree with you this point as blogging seems an exchanging ideas among bloggers. We share and learn at the same time :-)
      • Julius says:
That's right. your knowledge could be another blogger's ignorance, so the interaction between the two of you ensures the flow of knowledge and information. The phrases "No Man is an Island" and "Two heads are better than One" also very much applies to bloggers. :)
        • Tran Tinh says:
I love those proverbs, thanks friend :-)
    • Julius Kuhn-Regnier says:
Thank you for the comment Julius. I agree with you. You need to be able to communicate well and to share your thoughts. Without it you are not really blogging after all.
  14. TJ McDowell says:
Thanks for sharing the links! Read all of them this morning.
    • Julius Kuhn-Regnier says:
Glad you did. I hope you enjoyed them. What do you think is an essential trait of a blogger?
      • TJ McDowell says:
For me, I think a great blogger has got to come off as an expert on their topic. For a tech blog, they need to be a technology expert. For a mommy blog, they need to be an expert on making me laugh at their kids.
        • Julius Kuhn-Regnier says:
Interesting. And yes it's true that blogger do need to have an expertise on a certain topic. Yet that expertise can also build up over time.
  15. Tran Tinh says:
That is great collection. I could not follow that network regular, that is great list for further reading
    • Julius Kuhn-Regnier says:
Yeah Tran I have the same problem. That's why doing the round ups is useful to me. Do you think that you need passion as a blogger?
      • Tran Tinh says:
I do and I think other bloggers should do :-)
  16. Blazing Minds says:
I'm ashamed to say that due to time constraints I don't get over to MMO as much as I would like to, I must try to put aside an hour to stop by and check out some of the posts and do a bit more voting than I have been, to start with I'll have to visit these posts first ;)
    • Julius Kuhn-Regnier says:
I think that happens to most of us. I for myself know that I should spend much more time doing other things .. but in the end I don't. Thanks for your comment Karen.
      • Colleen says:
Btw, until now, I hadn't heard of MMO before today's article. Very good article over there Julius. I noticed famousbloggers.net cited a few times.
        • Julius Kuhn-Regnier says:
You hadn't heard of MMO? It's strange that so many people are saying this :P Yeah there are a lot of articles from FamousBloggers submitted there, that's probably because Hesham is the creator of MMO social network.
          • Colleen says:
            Nope, I hadn't! But I know now! ;)
