The First Week of Blogging

May 14, 2011 - Last Modified: May 15, 2011 by Hesham Zebida

The First Week of Blogging

My first week of blogging was really weird; it wasn’t even close to blogging. I remember that I came across WordPress many years ago, but to me, it wasn’t for blogging. Yes, I haven’t use WordPress for blogging as a goal, but my goal that time was to discover an easy and effective way to create websites for my clients and allow them to add or edit their own content.

I was just using WordPress as a powerful CMS to create a website, not a blog. However, the news section of any website I’ve created was using the blogging engine.

I was not having a blog!

One thing I was missing that time was a blog! And I didn’t know how to blog!

It would have made a really big difference if I had created a blog earlier and published all the cool stuff I’ve learned about blogging since the beginning. I started blogging after some time, and it was probably the best thing I ever did.  It was the most profitable decision I made for my business as a web designer and developer, and now I am more into internet marketing than anything else. It’s what makes me money.

First Week of Blogging

Last week Darren Rowse released his new e-book called “The First Week of bBlogging.” It’s a refreshing source of information and a good reminder of what I did wrong when I first started blogging. When I created my first blog, I was totally lost!

I made so many mistakes when I started FamousBloggers. Even though it’s not my first blog, I had to learn a lot of things trying to lead it to the right spot on the internet, and because I know that most of our blog visitors are new to blogging or they don’t even have a blog yet, I wanted to share this very useful guide to your first week of blogging.

I highly recommend this e-book for everyone who thinks about starting her/his first blog or those who are thinking of starting their second blog. You really don’t have to go through this without a little help.

So, if you want to start blogging with solid foundations, you should start here..

Can't seem to get my real estate blog going. The visitors are too transient. As soon as they buy are sell they are back to their normal non- real estate lives. can't blame em

When I started my first blog on Livejournal way back in 2004, I just wanted to blog just to get out my thoughts and my days. I had some friends on it, so it was nice to read their blogs, too. Now, blogging has transformed into a much bigger animal, one that requires a lot more work and attention. I don't mind it, though! I love the work and love to learn new tricks and techniques everyday. Thanks for the post!

Hi Hesham: As a word press beginner, I did not have any reluctance it was just like any other thing. I started getting writers block later and now that has turned into an effort to find a topic that can get most readers. So I guess if you are looking to attain more and more qualities you will hae one challenge or the other and that comes with the territory. Fran A

It is nice to hear about your story. Blogging was something strange for me 2 years ago and I had never thought I could earn money from blogging. I created Tek3D just for fun and it is interesting that I can maintain it till now. This book could suggest a lot of ideas for new bloggers.

I had a little bit of a learning curve with Wordpress myself, I jumped into blogging doing nothing but writing whatever I felt like, I didn't learn about focusing on niche or building mailing lists until way later.

My first week of blogging was a very different experience to most! I was fortunate enough to "get lucky" and with one post about a new product that suddenly became massive without other media picking up on it I got myself a 100k+ hit website. The irony was I wasn't even trying to build a website at the time! In fact all this "first week" posting inspires me to document my experience.

The first week is always the toughest. The first month, the first anything. Blogging is pretty tough, especially if you don't really know what you're doing, don't really have any goals or objectives to speak of. Delena

Hey Hesham thanks for sharing your info buddy. Like shubham said everyone has a different story and I think it also depend on how you was introduced to blogging. I started blogging just for adsense money and in first week I checked-out my adsense account more then 50 times but was not sure that why I am not making a single penny. Maybe at that time i was really not aware of what I am doing lol.
