Google PageRank Update

Google Will Not Update PageRank This Time

While surfing the web to explore more about Google PageRank and related stuff, I was surprised to see so many of PageRank Update date predictions and articles on how to know what will be next pagerank. The common thing with these articles was that they were loaded with so many comments which showed how eagerly everyone was waiting for ‘Google PageRank Update’.

Everyone, who is holding online content, especially bloggers who do every possible thing to get high PR’s are putting up lots of effort to get high pagerank.

Google has been updating the PageRank database once every quarter of a year for the last two years. Thus it makes it easy for others to predict the next update date. And everyone wants to increase their pagerank and are putting in effort like link building, guest posting and others. In all this I found a very strange but unique article which was claiming that Google won’t update PageRank this year. When I saw that article, I thought of something which generally no one thinks about.

What will happen if Google PageRank update does not roll out this time?

This is something which will never come up in anyone’s mind. No one will want Google to cancel its update; after all they all have been working for it very hard. But I thought what if Google do not update PageRank this time.

Who will be happy if Google PageRank update is cancelled?

Yes, you heard it right. There are some people who will still be happy if Google cancels its update. Backlink Seller who have made a lot of bucks in the quarter by selling high PR links will not have to worry as Google won’t be lowering their PR’s so they can go with the same link making more bucks for themselves. Google generally tends to lower PageRank from this type of strategies but it will not happen if no pagerank update rolls out.

Who will be very sad if Google PageRank update is cancelled?

This will be the worst possible news for the Newbies who have just started their career as bloggers. When I started, the very first thing I heard about was Google PageRank. I had a habit of checking my pagerank very often, even though I knew that there are no PR updates. For me having my first PR update will be something like a victory and a motivation to carry on my work. If there are no PR update then all their efforts will surely be a waste and will thus make them sad and they may even quit blogging.

People dealing with SEO and webmasters will now have a topic for discussion and it may even lead to research and analysis on Google’s strategy and what they are up to.

Are we so much obsessed with thing PageRank thing?

Well, to tell you the truth, most of us are. All the stuff we do with our online content has the aim to improve our ranking and presence in the online world. It does feel good to see the green PageRank bar especially when it just turns a little bit more greener. However it is not good to be so obsessed.

PageRank is not the only way to show how valuable your content is. It’s your readers who decide if your content is valuable or not. So, all you need to do is provide nice, unique and useful and even fresh articles related to your niche to make yourself a fan following and increase your pagerank the most genuine way.

Google PageRank Update rolls out regularly

Google updates the PageRank on a daily basis but this data is made public once in a quarter only. This prevents others from guessing the algorithm which decides the pagerank of websites.

Google Pagerank will definitely roll out the way it has to be. It was just a random thought which came up in my mind and I thought of sharing it with you all.

Yes, bloggers believed that the higher your blog pagerank, the high you blog SEO, and that is the more reason why many bloggers worked tirelessly fro a start for a better PR but I can say it’s becoming disappointing for Google not updating their pagerank yet by now.

I’ve not bothered with checking Google PR for such a long time, it was a compulsive issue when I first started blogging and I wasn’t sure what was going on, but then as I went along with my blog, I never bothered checking PR, even now I have no idea what my PR stands at and to be honest I’ve completely lost interest in the PR.

So if Google does cancel it, I won’t miss it!

Page rank is really important part for every seo members. I don’t believe that why google will not update in page rank. I am so worried. :-(

    • Kumar Ashutosh May 30, 2013, 1:00 pm

I think you haven’t read the whole post. Don’t worry Google will definitely roll out updates as they were rolling out.

  • Joe Hart May 30, 2013, 3:43 am

Hi Kumar…Page rank in my opinion has lost its old glory..It used to be a really significant parameter a few years back..Now it is just one of the 200 ought things that decide the ranking of a site..Nevertheless a high PR is still useful if you want to sell links or attract advertisers..Apart from that it is just a green button with a number.

  • Uttoran Sen May 29, 2013, 1:30 am

Google will surely update pagerank, but as bloggers, our focus should not be the PR alone.

However, this expectation of PR update is fun and exciting. There are a few new blogs of mine where am expecting some positive change of pagerank.

  • suryabhan May 29, 2013, 12:07 am

if this news is right then this is very sad for bloggers because every blogger put their best on their blog for getting a good pagerank and wait for the 3 months to see their labor by seeing the new updated pagerank by google. every time google update take around 3 months but this time wait is not over and every blogger is eager to know their pagerank.

  • Qasim May 28, 2013, 4:03 pm

    Hi Kumar,

And I thought I am the only one who’s blog Page Rank didn’t update. well with all the research results that Google update was successful eliminating spam website from search engine it doesn’t matter if your blog Page rank didn’t get updates, at least you are now sure that their is no spam or low quality website getting in front of in search results. Thanks for sharing this great discussion.

It is important to remember to create genuine content. People view page ranks to be what grades are to assignments, and so they will do what is required over adding their own personality to their content.

  • Clair May 28, 2013, 6:44 am

Is that all about the Google penguin update? I think by avoiding unnatural link building it can be avoid.

  • Daniel May 28, 2013, 2:15 am

It’s all about PRagging rights. Other than that, PR is a lot of BS. Build it, and they will come.

  • Rohan Shankar May 27, 2013, 9:05 pm

I have been waiting like ages for the next Google Page Rank Update and I hope it happens sometime soon.

    All the best to all!

  • Okto May 27, 2013, 10:09 am

I think it’s interesting to see how backlink sellers battle with google. In 2013 it’s a lot more risky to manipulate Google Pagerank, so the mantra should not be to increase our Pagerank but rather get quality sites to link to us which will have the same effect. In 2013, it’s much harder to manipulate Pagerank so it’s probably better to focus on just getting links from reputable sites.

  • Gagandeep Singh May 27, 2013, 10:09 am

Can you please tell how to increase the Page Rank of the website????

  • QuynhLan May 27, 2013, 5:38 am

    Hi there,
I think Google will not cancel PR because it will affect their profit. They earn money from bloggers and blogger need PR. The supplier have to satisfy the demand of customers. Then they will never do it.

  • Jon Harthun May 26, 2013, 10:18 pm

I don’t think Google will not roll out the PR update !
They don’t have a solid reason for this !
So, why would they do it? “May be late” ..

  • Tayyab Nasir May 26, 2013, 8:56 pm

I think that Google will never ever cancel the pr update because bloggers need high pr and Google is earning good from bloggers like us.

  • Philip May 26, 2013, 6:04 pm

I’ve been also searching for news about the next PR update since the beginning of the month, being that the last one was in the first week of February. Most people are saying that the update will eventually happen during the next month or so. But this leaves more time for improving your blog I guess.

Yeah I remember my first update, which happened after 1 month from starting my blog. I was so excited when I saw that PR1 after only one month and PR2 on another one of my blog which was only 2 months old.

Have a great day Kumar, and thanks for this wonderful post.

I don’t really depend upon google Pagerank much.

I mean, if you’re getting traffic how does it even matter what Pagerank you have.

  • James McAllister May 26, 2013, 12:56 pm

On one of my newest blogs, which has been up for around 4 months now, the pagerank is still not being updated, even after Penguin 2.0 rolled out. Hopefully it’ll update soon, because I’m curious to see what it is, especially since I’m getting so many hits from search engines.

  • Terry May 26, 2013, 12:04 pm

I think there is simply too much focus on PR. Sure it is part of the algorithm, but there are so many other things playing in these days.

  • Suhas May 26, 2013, 7:01 am

    Hi Kumar Ashutosh,
The title of this article is sufficient to make people read this. Page Rank updates can not be predicted and one this that I can say or I have observed that though PageRank update is timely process but it does not have any immediate effect. Rather it will be a regular process that Google indexes backlinks and evaluate web pages. PageRank update is a visible difference only.

    • Kumar Ashutosh May 27, 2013, 5:09 am

Totally agree with your views Suhas. Google has its own algorithm designed for ranking our works. No one can predict what will be the outcome of PR update..

  • JC May 26, 2013, 6:50 am

I’m waiting for it too, would be great to see it come about more often too (every month or two).

  • Akash Shastri May 26, 2013, 5:04 am

Eagerly waiting for a PR update. I think it will arrive soon as Google has recently launched Penguin 2.0 update.

  • Rabbi May 26, 2013, 2:09 am

are you sure about this..Google should update its Page Rank within June..so what exact time for updates??

  • Chandan May 25, 2013, 1:31 pm

For the webmasters or internet marketers who are monetizing their blog through traffic, they never care for PR, but obviously the authority of domain matter for them to improve traffic. But who are simply making money by selling PR value, (link seller) they will have to change their monetization methodology.

  • Gautham Nekkanti May 25, 2013, 10:53 am

I am happy and disappointed at the sametime for Google’s decision. We’ve got more time to build links, and more time to be anxious

  • Samuel May 24, 2013, 7:11 pm

    It doesn’t matter anyways!

Would I like to see it happen? Yes I would.

But bloggers today have many more responsibilities that they need to focus on such as conversion, loyal followers, and writing.

    Thanks for the article!

    • Kumar Ashutosh May 24, 2013, 11:24 pm

      Agree Samuel…
Pr Update is very important for a blogger but they have many others things to worry about too. In fact if they worry about other things mentioned in your comment.. then they need not worry about PR update…

  • Onyekachi May 24, 2013, 5:38 pm

It was in the past that pr is considered when a search is made on the google search, you can now see sites that has low ranking and quality links coming up before those that are ranked high. If search result continue in this way, pr tension will reduce.

  • Sarvesh Darak May 24, 2013, 3:38 pm

This is just random thought if comes true then you can imagine what would be the scenario in the blogosphere..:P

    • Kumar Ashutosh May 25, 2013, 11:27 am
