Most bloggers just don’t know the proper ways to make money from their blogs. But that’s okay, I am going to show you the top 3 ways to monetize your blog and explode your income.

Build A List

Building a list is perhaps the most crucial step that a lot of bloggers seem to miss. While it may seem a bit intimidating at first, building a list is actually quite easy. It only takes a few hours of preparation, and it could be one of the best things you do for your blog.

Building a list will enable you to throw around traffic at the push of a button. Wouldn’t you like to recommend a product, shoot out an email and receive instant commissions? That my friends, is the immense power of list building!

Writing Reviews

Reviewing products in your niche is a fantastic way to monetize your blog. You can leverage your visitors as traffic and write a pre-sales page. You also have the ability to offer bonuses to your readers if they purchase the product through your link. Simply inform them to email you their receipt to receive their bonus products.

Be careful with this tactic though. Make sure you show your readers the best products, otherwise, you risk losing credibility. Also, make sure you only write reviews “here and there” – you want to provide compelling content at least 90% of the time.

Selling Your Own Product

Selling your own product is beyond a doubt the best thing you can do to monetize your blog. Not only will you receive 100% of the commissions but you will establish yourself as an expert in your niche.

Selling your product has many other benefits. You can setup an affiliate program to make more money and capture more leads. You can joint venture with other webmasters in your niche, and you can offer a one time offer to your list.

I hope you see the power of these three techniques. Simply throwing up an AdSense ad will not work anymore. If you really want to monetize your blog to explode your income you need to build a list, create a product, and write reviews.

    I myself don't sell any of my own products, there is too much permeation in the market place for the same eBooks and such. I do think building a list is merely a means for #3, it should be done no matter what even if you don't plan on earning money as it can be a great means of sending out newsletters, information and updates.

    Good article, thanks for sharing your tips. I always have papers around me to note my bucket list and all others things to not forget to do them.     Hi Paul, I agree with your 3 best ways to make money from a blog. Another way might be to charge people a fee to guest blog to drive traffic to their site/product. For people that struggle with creating a product, I think the easiest way is to create an eBook about your area of expertise from your job or hobby etc. Or find somebody in your family that is an expert in a niche and base the book on what they can show you. Interview them and take photos etc. Later you can turn this into a monthly-paid membership site, a static site to sell on or a DVD etc. You can use Open Office to create a PDF and zip it up to offer as a download from your site. Start with a free report to create the template for future products and to get something out of the door fast.     The notion that just 'throwing AdSense' will not work is very stupid. First, you tried to do what most marketers do and that is teach a 'rule-based' marketing and not principle-based one (tell people to test all these stuff before they decide to implement any of it.) First, I've had some blogs that made more in AdSense income daily than in affiliate income. But I've TESTED different position and colors of that Adsense ad in order to make it work. There is simply too many variables to consider and therefore teaching people to 'go by the rules' in this internet marketing game is simply very misleading. People simply go by the assumption 'oh internet marketing and doing business online is very simple...just do 1 2 3 and that's it! It's same like boiling an egg!' which is opposite of what the biggest players (Google, Amazing etc.) do. They test everything. And if Amazon and Google test...then no guru has the right to claim people should do 'this or that' and they'll get to that exact specific result.     I agree that all are good ways to monetize your blog, however, building your own products does not require a blog. You use your blog as an launching pad to sell it but not everybody can do this, specially if you are on the MMO niche. The internet is saturated with these type of products and unless you are a superstar, I seriously doubt that this method will reap in profits. In my opinion, the best way to monetize a blog is by buildling trust and credibility. After that, everything else comes in like a breeze. Providing consulting, coaching and ghostblogging will probably be better choices.       I see what your saying. But consider this, build a blog first then create a product for your readers. I'm in the MMO niche and I know how steep the competition is. Yet with my tiny little blog that only gets about 100 visitors a day I still manage to pull sales on my product.       Try giving away a free product that you created yourself. This makes it unique to your site and the visitor will not be able to get it anywhere else. Then make a squeeze page and start directing your traffic to the squeeze page. If you do it right you can see very high conversions. I direct the traffic to a squeeze page located here: http://paulroekle.com/linkwheel/ And that page has been converting at 77% for me because of the way I drive traffic to it.     I do gadget reviews quite often on my blog. Since the vendors mostly don't give affiliate options, I put Amazon ads instead. However, just like what Hesham said, selling your own product is probably the best idea but not everybody has the tenacity to create his or her own product to sell online. After that you will realize that it's not really that difficult!
