You know.. I love CommentLuv, especially after the last comment spam protection update, I love to spread the love, and I love you guys, but… there are things that I hate about CommentLuv “users”, I hate to see my blog posts get abused -in front of my eyes- and keep my mouth shut!
Everyday! I see people who are messing with their bright future just to get a backlink! They have no idea what they are doing, and they don’t realize the right way to use CommentLuv for marketing their articles.
Probably not everyone knows about the SEO value of comments, but it actually works, that’s why some people get paid to post comment on blogs. So, for those who are trying to make some bucks out of their clients’ pockets, I am going to share some of the awful ways of using CommentLuv that actually make you suck!
These are No Nos! (Don’t do them… OK?)
1- Leave a kitty comment on my Doggy blog
You see, some people who own a cat blog try leave comments on a dog blog, yes.. I know they are all lovely animals, but you are breaking the first law of commenting, the law of relevancy!
Never do it unless you really have a good reason, or the dogs will hate you!
2- Leave a link to your recent a review in my review!
What? come on, I am trying to make a living here!
I do a lot of product reviews on the blog, I don’t like it when someone leave a link to her/his review post in my review post.
The other day, I published a review of Thesis Theme, and -because my review is ranked well- some people commented on that review post and left links to their own reviews or Thesis because it’s relevant 🙂
Do you think I will approve it and let you steal my efforts?
It doesn’t work this way my fellow internet marketer! So, don’t waste your time, find another way!
3- Add a link to an internal page on your blog
Some people try to get backlinks to their internet pages, this is good, but the problem is when they submit their comment, they their blog post URL instead of “blog URL”, (for example: www.myblog.com/mypost.html instead of www.myblog.com), I know you want to promote that post so badly, but the field you are filling says “Website”, not “Your Post URL”, so basically you are doing it wrong.
If I don’t know you, then I will consider you a spammer.
4- Try to get two links with one comment!
It’s cool to kill two birds with only one stone, it saves you time, right?! But you have to master that!
And, because it dos NOT work all the time, you have to save some stones for latter.
Don’t believe me? read what Wikipedia says about it:
Don’t worry, you are not alone. Well you are, but there’s not a lot I can do about that. What I mean to say is that we’ve all been there, even you. It’s only natural and human to want to kill as many birds with as few stones as possible. It’s nothing to be ashamed of, as long as you keep it to yourself and tell no one.
I see many people doing it everyday, and I thought it’s cool! But then I figure out that commenting on blogs has something to do with the first impression, so if you visit my blog for the first time and left a suspicious comment, you won’t have another chance!
Hold on here, you have once chance, don’t waste it!
5- Add your blog feed instead of blog URL
I don’t understand this one, seriously!
Some people use a link to their blog RSS feed instead of the website or blog link, I don’t get your point, but I assume that you are trying to push CommentLuv to grab your latest post from your RSS feed. I assure you that you don’t need to do that.
Don’t be silly! Just be normal and add your blog url.
Don’t let them get away with it!
You see, if I don’t know you, I won’t let you play freely in my blog’s backyard, blog comments in this case has something to do with relationship!
I see many of my fellow bloggers let spammers get away with it. Please don’t pretend you don’t know they are spammers! Don’t let them go with it just because you want to increase comment count on your blog posts, and to show the world that your blog is active. It’s spam active!
Ok, I am off to do some important business you too should kill some spammers today!
