5 Tips To Boost Your Guest Blogging Success

Guest Posting Success

Hi, I’m Karl Foxley, co-founder and regular blogger over at FMSSEO.com.

I’m really excited to take the opportunity to write for FamousBloggers.net and what a better place to start than with an article on guest blogging. For those of you that don’t already know, guest blogging is a great opportunity to extend your readership, generate backlinks and increase the traffic to your website. After you’ve identified a blog that you would like to write for, here are some tips to get you started on the right foot.

1. Having a unique voice

When you are guest blogging it is a must that you write in your own style. It can be tempting to adopt a similar style to the blog author(s) because it is a formula that is already working well for them.

A guest blog post is your chance to shine and nothing will stand out more than writing with your own unique voice.

2. Research aka ‘Do Your Homework’

Seriously, this may sound like even more work but you must take the time to dig into the archive of blog posts for the blog you are writing for. You want to find the posts that became popular, can you write something on that subject? (after all, you now know the readers really liked that topic).

3. Pre-post Promotion

When you have confirmed that you are going to have a post published on a site, take the opportunity to promote your post before it goes live.

Tell your readers about it on your blog by writing a quick post. Email your newsletter subscribers and tell them about your upcoming appearance. Tweet a quick update to your Twitter followers.

Are you a member of other social networks, use them to your advantage now. This works well when there is 2 or more days before your guest post is published.

4. Post Promotion

When your guest post goes ‘live’, it’s now time to promote it again in the same way as described above (3.) Write another post on your blog and this time link to your guest post and ask your regular readers for feedback. Tweet to your followers that they can now read your article.

5. Sandwich Your Guest Post

People skim read. How often have you landed on a blog post and scrolled up and down before something ‘grabbed’ your attention and got you reading. To increase the chances of the readers seeing your name and your website URL you should sandwich your content just like I have done on this post.

In the opening sentence I introduced myself and stated where I am from. In closing, you’ll see that I am doing the same again.

That’s it, I hope these tips take your guest blogging to the next level and you reap the rewards of this form of blog promotion.

To your success,

Karl Foxley from FMSSEO.com
