I once asked myself a question in my early time in blogging – is one blog enough for me?
At that time, I answered to myself – yes, it’s enough.
But as I started to explore more things about blogging, the same question came into my mind. But I got different answer – I need more than one blog!
Why I changed my mind? That’s what I want to share with you here at Famous Bloggers.
First Factor: Higher Potential for Earnings
As I explored more about blogging, I learned that I could earn money from blogging by various ways such as writing sponsored posts, advertisements, Adsense and etc. I felt very happy when I received my first payment and it turned blogging from just a hobby into my part-time job until today.
I started to accept blogging as my source of income and investment. If I have the potential to earn 5USD-10USD per week from one blog, how about 2, 3, 4 or more blogs? Based on this potential, I decided to run more than one blog.
Second Factor: Knowledge in Various Niches
Blogging is not just a money making platform for me. It’s also a chance for me to know, explore and share knowledge in various niches. I started with my personal blog at first and then I felt that I need to discuss and share the knowledge and information through niche blogs so I can enhance my knowledge in any particular niche. Currently I have a set blogs with various niches from personal, business, health to real estate matters and honestly running these blogs help me a lot in enhancing my knowledge in the involved niches.
Argumentation
I believe some bloggers would disagree with me especially when we’re talking about time consumption and the focus on building reputation. For me, it’s depend on our own blogging style. Some bloggers can’t afford too much blogs so it’s better to stick to one site. I have my own checklist and set of ideas for contents that I want to publish at my blogs. I put my efforts to build reputation for myself and my blogs.
It depends on you.
How To Know?
Some fellow bloggers asked me questions on similar matter – to be a successful blogger, how many blogs should I have?
My answer is – try to ask yourself these questions:
- What do you want to achieve from blogging?
- What is your blogging style?
- What is your blogging strategy?
These are the questions which I asked myself before I decided to run more than one blog.
Wrap Up
One blog, 2 blogs, 3 blogs.. or more? You have to determine it yourself as you know who you are – your capability, your availability to write, and etc. Remember that the ultimate factor to determine your success is not the number of blogs you have but your efforts, strategy and creativity.
