Attract Advertisers

How to Attract Direct Advertisers to Your Blog

All the consistent efforts you put into your blog is ultimately so that something yields out of it. Some aspirations of a blogger are fame, social goodwill, numerous contacts, and of course money. This post is dedicated to help you achieve the last aim mentioned.

Of the many ways of making money through your blog ( paid reviews, paid posts, etc), the one that is of most importance, legal, ethical and completely stands out from the crowd is publishing advertisements.

While signing up with advertising mediums such as Google AdSense and Clicksor is a highly sort after option, getting into deals with direct advertisers (without interference of a third party) is lucrative and helps you get some instant cash unlike the other way of using third party mediator brand’s good-will. But, how to attract direct advertisers to your blog?

Attract direct advertisers

I’ve got you some tips that will aid in grabbing the attention of direct advertisers for your blog. Here they are ..

Make a good blog

There is no point publishing ads, especially that of direct advertisers, in a low PR amateur blog. So the first step towards attracting more advertisers is making a reasonably professional blog. Here is a checklist that might help –

  • Quality content.
  • Regular content.
  • SEO layout.
  • User friendly.
  • Targeted to a specific niche.
  • Reasonable traffic.
  • Well networked.

Display banners

It’s better if the advertiser knows where and how his brand’s ad would appear. It all about taking advantage of the aesthetics of your blog. Ensure that the ad space is explicit and the ad slots not empty, rather occupied by well designed ‘Advertise Here’ banners. Also, design the banner such that it goes well with your blog’s theme and does not out-beat your content or other factors.

Design an Advertise page

Advertise

Including an ‘Advertise with Us’ page ads to your professionalism.  It’s better not to expect advertisers to contact you through your ‘Contact’ page. The ‘advertise with us’ page also shows how much you value your prospects, as you care to help them in accessing you better with the info you provide there. It also makes them feel great when they find a page dedicated exclusively to them. Some things you must make sure of adding in the ‘advertise with us’ page are –

  • Your personal information like email id, mobile number, location.
  • Testimonials from other advertisers.
  • Your network of blogs (if any).
  • Your traffic stats for past few months.
  • Your current ad’s click through rates (CTR).
  • Your real, attractive (not weird) picture.

Advertise your ad spaces

With the kind of competition in every blogging niche, advertising your blog’s ad space can get you an edge over your competition. You can advertise your ad space in your Facebook fan pages, active and relevant Facebook groups, Fivver, etc.

While advertising your ad space be sure that you post the ads in relevant online communities. Also, the ad must be comprehensive and attractive. Again, attractive does not mean making over the top or unrealistic claims.

Hope this guide helped you in making some decisions in the line of attracting direct advertisers to your blog.

I think content is key here, everything from style of writing to presentation. You also need to be well established in your niche if you want to attract advertisers.

I think it also depends heavily on the subject matter. If you blog on an area where there is a lot of online marketing activity, then there is a higher chance of attracting advertisers.

You’re right Simon, Niche of site depends and plays a vital role in attracting direct advertisers to a blog

Great info! I have followed parts of this, but I still do struggle to find advertisers. I currently get 800 visitors per day which are from Dubai, so am now going to as hard as I can at finding advertisers!

Great blog! Keep up the great work!

800 is not a bad number. Try to get visitors all over the world. Advertiser may consider global traffic sometime. You have huge chances to attract advertisers from Dubai, as most of your traffic is from there.

Hello Amar, you make some really good suggestions. Especially about not having empty ad spaces. If potential advertises see that nobody else is interested in your site they will run away too.

    Great tips, :)

    • Amar Ilindra July 11, 2013, 10:20 pm

Yeah! most of the publishers miss this simple logic. Never display all empty slots, show them at the least couple of ads to gain advertisers attention on your blog.

Good content will always attract eyeballs and that is directly proportional to the potential advertiser interest. Create remarkable content, that’s the base and make it easy for people/advertisers to contact you with a nice and clean ‘contact me’ page, then the rest will be automatically taken care off.

    Nice article.
I am getting very low traffic for my site. 200-300 per day . will it be good for direct advertising?
    all these traffic are organic.
    Thank you.

Not enough mostly. But advertisers may stop at your blog as well, if your traffic converts for them.
keep your blog clean and good looking

By being a pro and sharing value advertisers eventually stalk you lol….it is true though.

I received a request recently to advertise on 1 of my blogs. Why? I patiently created value over a period of months, make connections, increased my page rank and did not go too heavy on the ads, to spoil my blog’s look.

Taking a few steps daily – and building an attractive advertisement contact page -helps you stand out from the blogging crowd.

    Thanks for the tips!
